Zimbolicious Poetry Anthology, Volume 2 is one of those winds among many others. As we all are aware of, when the wind travels it has no boundaries, it collects, it deposits, it mixes things up; you never know where that leaf you see the wind carrying will eventually be deposited, is there another wind, another element that is going to move that leaf to another place... We firmly believe it is a good wind. It will be able to push our poetry making in Zimbabwe into other frontiers. Zimbolicious Poetry Anthology, Volume 2 continues from where we left off with the first Zimbolicious Poetry Anthology we created in 2016. In this Volume 2, we have 77 poems from 30 poets and translators, which include among others; experienced poets, academic poets, street poets, emergent poets, beginning poets, all telling stories associated with what all these poets refer to as home, that is, Zimbabwe. It is an ongoing debate on what is Zimbabwe, what we want our Zimbabwe to be socially, culturally, politically…, thus we allowed every opinion space in this anthology, whether us editors agree with them or not. We have poets tackling issues to do with poetry, writing in general, art, place, identity, tradition, struggle, culture, gender, collective understanding, religion, individual, human rights and love, among others.

Despite the current economic and political situation in our country, poets, writers, artists, and other creatives have defied the odds and continued to churn their works and submit to produce this marvelous anthology. This eighth installment continues the tradition of giving new writers the platform to shine and to the seasoned writers, a shebeen to meet again and prolong the tradition. Zimbolicious Anthology: An Anthology of Zimbabwean Literature and Arts, Volume 3, contains 5 short stories, 51 poems, 1 nonfiction piece and 3 drawings from Zimbabwean writers and artists. Zimbabwe continues to tumble on its unshakable political trajectory since Robert Mugabe was removed as president via a military coup. Much of the writing in this anthology addresses both the current political situation, and the hope of the Zimbabweans for a free and fair election in 2018. Within the pieces a lot of questions, anger, mistrust remain, alongside uncertainties around the enigmatic political landscape of Zimbabwe and the Zimbabwean people. Despite this the writers have a lot to celebrate and also touch on issues to do with love, morality, spirituality, tradition, relationships, family, identity, individuality and joy.

Zimbolicious Poetry Anthology: Volume 1 contains 89 poems and translations in Shona, English, Tonga, and Chibarwe. 32 poets and translators tackle issues such as poetry, writing in general, art, place, identity, tradition, struggle, collective understanding, individual, human rights and love.

Zimbolicious Anthology: An Anthology of Zimbabwean Literature and Arts, Vol 5 is the fifth in this yearly journal of Zimbabwean literature and the arts as it happens. The poetry covers a range of subjects; love, spirituality, religion, migration, poet's vocation and as usual the political direction or situation in the country. The fiction deals with a wide range issues, from religious contrivance in Gwiriri's story, drug problem and corruption in Mutize's story, the political and economic strife in Tokwe's story, and the personal trauma story in Chikomo's car accident story. In the nonfiction section we have Muchuri's illuminating essay on another Zimbabwe storyteller, Ignatious Mabasa's Shona books, Zvikomborero Kapuya harks back to the land issue as the starting point and catapult to the misunderstandings between Zimbabwe and her erstwhile foreign enemies, Chikono writes his painful life story on shame families carry when a family member has a child out of wedlock, worst when the child is disabled and Mwanaka has a small philosophical vignette essay on choice. The visual section is heralded by Nhevera's iconic brushworks depicting movement and portraiture, and Mwanaka has an array of art pieces from documentary photography, experimental photography, water colour, computer graphic and installation, wrapping up this new offering.

Zimbolicious Anthology: An Anthology of Zimbabwean Literature and Arts is the 6th yearly volume of Zimbabwean Literature and the arts. This year's anthology is extra-special in that we feature Zimbabwe's upcoming young visual artists who recently won or got highly recommended and exhibited their artworks through the National Art Gallery, in a competition sponsored by Morgan & Co and in association of the National Gallery of Zimbabwe. These artworks varies from installation, mixed media, drawings, paintings and tackled the issue of being "Masked", resultant of Covid 19 pandemic. These artworks are accompanied by Tinashe Muchuri's illuminating critical reception essay. Chrispah Munyoro's artworks are personal and are of struggle, and Tendai Rinos Mwanaka's artworks deal with a number of issues such as US racism, the issue of Jihad terrorism, climate change and global warming. The poetry section tackles a gamut of issues from governance, spirituality, environmentalism, love, relationships, etc... and the fiction section has 4 bittersweet short stories dealing with illegal mining mob deaths (Mathew T Chikono), coming of age love story (Christopher Kudyahakudadirwe), a slice of bus travelogue (Nicole Kazembe), writing mother's body (Oscar Gwiriri). The nonfiction has two essays; Chipo Martha Bute deals with a personal journey to discovery and worthiness and Tendai Rinos Mwanaka deals with Zimbabwe's politics.

In Best New African Poets 2021 Anthology there are 18 French speaking African poets from DRC, Congo Brazzaville, Cameroun, Ivory Coast, Benin, Togo, Chad, Senegal, Comoros and more... 14 Portuguese speaking poets from Angola, Sao Tome and Principe, Mozambique and 63 English speaking African poets from among other countries, South Africa, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Uganda, Malawi, Swaziland, Lesotho, Zambia, Tanzania, Ghana, Gambia, Sierra Leone. A full gamut of issues is dissected, from love, marriage, relationships, spirituality, politics, culture, tradition, environmentalism, and the interstellar etc. Included are two collaborations: the first deals with marriage, juxtaposing Monogamy vs Polygamy with the 21th century lived experience; the second imagines humanity living as intergalactic beings. The poets were asked to be imaginative (to be fictional poets), to try to create and imagine human agency in this interstellar civilization approaching. There is also featured 5 group interviews with 5 previous contributors to this series. These interviews were interactive and collaborative, with largely the BNAP groups interviewing a poet, critically engaging with their work and discussing the literary and social aspects the poetry addressed. And lastly 4 reviews of African poetry.

Over 600 poets have been given voice in this series which was started five years ago, making it an important archive of new African poetry. Every year space is given to as many poets as can be accommodated; it takes at least 10 years to make a poet! The greatest positive aspect of this series is the poems received from writers who contribute each year: Archie Swanson, Chaun Ballard, Chengetai Mhondera, Troydon Wainwright, Tendai Rinos Mwanaka and Soberano Canhanga, and several who have poems in the 2016, 2017, and 2018 anthologies, and so many new ones. Many poets have gone on to publish their first collection and more, several have won prizes all over the world, some have become academics, some influential performers of their work and some have travelled all over the world presenting their work. This years Best New African Poets 2019 Anthology there is 197 poems from a more than one hundred poets (including collaborations) writing in English, Portuguese, French, and a whole host of African indigenous languages. Featured are poems which deal with love, relationships, politics, governance, spirituality, existence, identity and place. We invite you to this years anthology to engage with the most important new African poets writing from the continent and the diasporas and enjoy this African pot-pouri of art and life.

From 2015 to 2023 we have been able to issue out, yearly, an anthology of Africa poets, through 9 years of publishing this beautiful anthology of the best contemporary African poets and in the process we have published and archived over 1000 African poets. And this year without fail we offer you Best New African Poets 2023 Anthology which comprises several dozens of African poets from the Portuguese, English and French speaking African countries. We expect the anthology to continue into another decade but also to seed into other forms of poetic expressions starting from next year. We intend to work on Best New African Poets International Festival of the Arts, an event that will bring together all these poets we have been able to publish the last 9 years to showcase their talent in a week of festivities in Harare, Zimbabwe. This year's anthology has poems that cover the usual gamut of issues: love, unrequited feelings, relationships, death, poetry making, politics, and we were excited to see Mashigo tackling the ongoing Israel/Hamas war, and the ill-treatment of the Palestinian people for generations under the Israeli government; culture, religion, spirituality, identity, belonging, memory, individuality and all sorts of other existential dilemmas that the young African poets deal with day to day.
