Synopsis The Encyclopedia of Wit, Humor and Wisdom by : Leewin B. Williams
Whenever you need an amusing story to hold attention, drive home a point in speech making to enliven conversation, or to read just for fun, the more than 4,100 peppery, bubbling stories in this volume will satisfy every demand. All are arranged alphabetically under subject. The index and cross-index makes it possible to locate the right story quickly. The range of this volume is far and wide. The stories are about people in all walks of life. All of them are wholesome and clean. And what is more, you will want to remember and retell these stories. Drawn from the vagaries, the foibles, and the peculiarities of human nature, they provide countless chuckles from many different locales. The ENCYCLOPEDIA of WIT, HUMOR and WISDOM is indispensable for public speakers, toastmasters, lawyers, ministers, educators, writers, salesmen, and those who love a good laugh.

Synopsis Country Wit and Wisdom by : Grace Ann Neuharth
A country life surrounded with beauty was the perfect backdrop for me to learn a lot of life's lessons. It afforded times of stillness and calm without a lot of the distractions of city living. The lessons learned have been many. I have had to seek God in stillness of mind and heart. I praised Him often for His goodness and for all the beauty I see around me. I've talked a lot about predators and being safe and finding that place of safety. True safety can only be found when you are abiding under the shadow of the Almighty. I have also learned more about being dependent upon God. A lot of people in the country seek for self-reliance. It's all about what they can do and have with the work they do. Yet it is God who is in ultimate control of the winds and the rains, the times and seasons of life. These are lessons that can be learned anywhere you can shut the world off for a while and be still. You need a time of silence away from the noises of life that bombard your mind and soul. I pray that you enjoyed both the lighthearted look at the country life and the more serious lessons to be learned. God is speaking to you all the time in many different ways and situations if we only have ears to hear and eyes to see that lesson.

Synopsis The Wit and Wisdom of Boris Johnson by : Harry Mount
A return to the wit and wisdom of Boris Johnson – Brexiteer, Foreign Secretary, Prime Minister. New and updated edition. 2019 – the year that Boris took on the 'lingering gloomadon-poppers', pledged to steer the UK between the 'Scylla and Charybdis of Corbyn and Farage' and into the calmer waters of political freedom. Of course there was always bound to be 'a bit of plaster coming off the ceilings of Europe's Chanceries'. Harry Mount has updated his edited collection of the Prime Minister's wit and wisdom with three new chapters dealing with Boris's time as Brexiteer-in-chief; Foreign Secretary and 'On the Threshold of Downing Street'. He describes Boris's Brexit campaign, his leadership breakdown in 2016, his ups and downs as Foreign Secretary, his time outside the political establishment, his turbulent private life and how Boris felt it was his manifest destiny to become the Prime Minister. So buckle up for a riotous tour of the million-pound NHS funder, golden wonder, pro-having, pro-eating blond behemoth. This is the Wit and Wisdom of Boris Johnson.
