Synopsis Tests & Measurement for People Who (Think They) Hate Tests & Measurement by : Neil J. Salkind
The real-world examples and journal article citations presented within each chapter are very useful. I like having the references and the ability to share the full article with students. I find the use of humor throughout the book as a key component. Very serious topics (which can sometimes produce anxiety in students) are approached in a humorous manner that prevents students from becoming anxious as they start the material.

Synopsis Measurement Error and Research Design by : Madhu Viswanathan
"Measurement Error and Research Design is an ideal text for research methods courses across the social sciences, especially those in which a primer on measurement is needed. For the novice researcher, this book facilitates understanding of the basic principles required to design measures and methods for empirical research. For the experienced researcher, this book provides an in-depth analysis and discussion of the essence of measurement error and the procedures to minimize it. Most important, the book's unique approach bridges measurement and methodology through clear illustrations of the intangibles of scientific research."--BOOK JACKET.

Synopsis Learning Statistics with R by : Daniel Navarro
"Learning Statistics with R" covers the contents of an introductory statistics class, as typically taught to undergraduate psychology students, focusing on the use of the R statistical software and adopting a light, conversational style throughout. The book discusses how to get started in R, and gives an introduction to data manipulation and writing scripts. From a statistical perspective, the book discusses descriptive statistics and graphing first, followed by chapters on probability theory, sampling and estimation, and null hypothesis testing. After introducing the theory, the book covers the analysis of contingency tables, t-tests, ANOVAs and regression. Bayesian statistics are covered at the end of the book.
