Synopsis Just a Glance by : Seamus Omeara
My name is Robin, an Essex boy at heart, and as things go, I live a good life now on and off in the west of Ireland in a beautiful picturesque place called the Galway bay. There are some people who would have called me and my mates gangsters. Sure we got up to mischief, but it just seemed the right thing to do at the time. We didnt like doing what we did and wanted to get out as soon as we had made enough money. We got into this game by accident in some ways, but then we stayed that far under the radar; we went deeper than a nuclear submarine. Definitely not our interpretation of gangsters. We didnt go around carrying guns, threatening or beating up people, just normal run-of-the-mill guys just trying to earn a few bob and lived by the motto Dont pull, dont push and be lucky. But now having given up all my wild ways, if you would like to call it that, sold some of my share in the business I have and earned enough money just to spend my time doing the things I love in lifea bit of painting, fishing, part-time teaching, and having the odd pint of Guinness, or as they call it here porter. For the past twenty-odd years life just cant get better. So with this in mind, it gives me time to reflect on one particular day twenty-odd years ago in a bookies in Romford, Essex.

Synopsis Just Add Buddha! by : Franz Metcalf
“A diverse and edifying collection of practices to use in annoying and difficult circumstances” from the author of What Would Buddha Do? (Spirituality & Practice). Written for spiritual seekers who deal with unenlightened coworkers and inconsiderate bank tellers more often than Zen masters and Tibetan monks, this book demonstrates the practical side of Buddhism. Author Franz Metcalf shows how to weave simple vows, quick rethinks, instant relaxations, fast visualizations, and many other stripped-down Buddhist practices into every area of life. Individually, Metcalf’s techniques work as quick fixes for specific dilemmas, but woven together, they gradually strengthen one’s spiritual base when one day a habitual way of being has been quietly transformed. While not written to impress pure Buddhists, this book takes Buddhism seriously. Approachable sections on Buddhism’s rich tradition and a sprinkling of quotes from ancient scripture and contemporary teachers connect the book’s practices to the deeper wisdom underlying them. Always, Just Add Buddha! remains squarely focused on daily life, drawing out the most practical aspects of Buddhism.

Synopsis Kiss My Math by : Danica McKellar
The New York Times bestselling math workbook from actress and math genius Danica McKellar that teaches seventh to ninth grade girls how to conquer pre-algebra! Stepping up not only the math but the sass and style, McKellar helps math-phobic teenagers moving up into high school chill out and finally “get” negative numbers, variables, absolute values, exponents, and more. As she did so effectively in Math Doesn't Suck, McKellar uses personality quizzes, reader polls, real-life testimonials, and stories from her own life—in addition to clear instruction, helpful tips, and practice problems—revealing why pre-algebra is easier, more relevant, and more glamorous than girls think.
