Synopsis BIPERSONAL PSYCHODRAMA: ITS TECHNIQUES, THERAPISTS, AND CLIENTS by : ROSA CUKIER
This book is aimed at psychodramatists and psychotherapists in general, but especially those just starting out in psychotherapy, complete with tips and advice. In easy-to-follow language, the author addresses some theoretical questions related to bipersonal psychodrama; for example, the idea that the "psychodrama a deux", as Moreno called this modality of psychotherapy, isn't a minor therapeutic approach or necessarily just a preparation for group therapy, as many authors presume. For Rosa Cukier, bipersonal psychodrama is a very rich and adaptable tool, but it demands creative innovations and additions to classical group psychodrama techniques. She uses cushions or other objects from around the room to play complementary roles, and then the use of the classical technique. She defines each technique, aims to clarify the directions, and gives examples of their correct usage following Morenian psychodrama from the warming up phase, through the dramatization, and on until the final sharing phase.

Synopsis Integrating Psychodrama and Systemic Constellation Work by : Ronald Anderson
Systemic Constellation Work is a rapidly growing experiential healing process that is being embraced by a variety of helping professionals, both traditional and alternative, worldwide. This book explores the history, principles and methodology of this approach, and offers a detailed comparison with psychodrama - the original mind-body therapy - explaining how each method can enhance the other. Constellation work is based on the notion that people are connected by unseen energetic forces and suggests that the psychological, traumatic and survival experiences of our ancestors are genetically passed forward to the next generation and may live within us. Using insightful case studies from a variety of client groups, this book shows how Systemic Constellation Work can expand the possibilities of psychodrama techniques, and can be successfully integrated with psychodramatic enactment, guided imagery, ritual, concretization and other methods of healing and personal growth. This book will be essential reading for students and practitioners of psychodrama and Constellation work, as well as counselors, mental health professionals, experiential therapists, creative and expressive arts therapists and alternative practitioners looking to widen their knowledge of mind-body therapies.

Synopsis Contemporary Psychodrama by : José Fonseca
Contemporary Psychodrama weaves together psychodrama and psychoanalysis with illustrative clinical examples, whilst preserving the essence of psychodramatic philosophy and methodology. Previously unavailable in the English language, this book presents José Fonseca's diverse new approaches to psychodrama together with a blending of theories. The book is divided into clear sections, covering: * new approaches to psychodrama theory * new approaches to psychodrama technique * psychodrama and sexuality * the past and future of psychodrama. Fonseca's innovative ideas include the adaptation of techniques originally intended for groups to individual psychodramatic psychotherapy. He distinguishes between not only the normal and the mentally ill but the normal and the optimal, and presents a detailed developmental psychology, inspired by Moreno and Buber, but clearly influenced by object relations theory. Contemporary Psychodrama presents the original concepts of a leading light of the Brazilian psychodrama movement that will be of great benefit to all professionals working with psychodrama. José Fonseca, M.D., Ph.D., was one of the pioneers of the psychodramatic movement in Brazil and a founder of the Brazilian federation of psychodrama. He has published two books in Brazil, Psychodrama of Madness and Relationship Psychotherapy.

Synopsis INTEGRATIVE HOLISTIC HEALTH, HEALING, AND TRANSFORMATION by : Penny Lewis
The goal of this book is to begin to present the fundamental body of knowledge which informs current approaches in complimentary and alternative medicine and to explore the role of the new professions of integrative holistic health practitioner, consultant and administrator. This book is designed to compliment, enhance, deepen and broaden the reader's existing expertise through an integrative approach which will improve his/her ability to consult, design programs and work in a variety of settings with various populations including those with medical and psychological conditions as well as those who wish to support their health and well-being. The book provides the necessary conceptual foundational frameworks for exploring how practitioners in a field of alternative medicine/holistic health know what they know in support of their work. These core ways of knowing gives them a foundation for evaluating their work, new advances in the field and affords them interrelated frames of knowledge for their continued research, expansion and integrative work in the field. Trained holistic health practitioners who may have applied one or more of these paradigms may now be able to expand their foundational and conceptual base thereby broadening their theory and techniques that are appropriate to their professional arenas. Section I is designed to explore general ways of knowing and meaning making in holistic health. Section II is designed to offer the reader/practitioner methodology regarding the creation and implementation of holistic health centers, programs and integrated consultation practices. Finally, Section III offers examples of integrative holistic health clinicians who combine and synthesize a variety of holistic health approaches and paradigms into their practices as practitioners, healers, therapists and consultants.

Synopsis Emotional Survival:Childhood Pain Relived in the Drama of Adult Life by : Rosa Cukier
The relational and emotional needs of babies and small children, when not systematically met, will generate feelings of low self-esteem, shame and humiliation. These feelings will remain at the core of the personality, covered up in various forms, ranging from a hurt child living inside an adult’s body or a ‘false self’ of an apparently successful and narcissistic adult, or even like the complex borderline disorder in case of which the individual pushes away the people they need most. This book presents powerful techniques that can be applied in an intense therapeutic relationship, which help bring into the light this ‘ghost-child’ and enable reparatory work of the childhood wounds. It is a must-read for all therapists, teachers and relatives of adults and adolescents who struggle with childhood issues of abandonment, abuse and violence.
