Synopsis First Measurement of Bose-Einstein Correlations in Proton-Proton Collisions at $\sqrt{s} by :

Bose-Einstein correlations have been measured using samples of proton-proton collisions at 0.9 and 2.36 TeV center-of-mass energies, recorded by the CMS experiment at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. The signal is observed in the form of an enhancement of pairs of same-sign charged particles with small relative four-momentum. The size of the correlated particle emission region is seen to increase significantly with the particle multiplicity of the event.

Synopsis Bose-Einstein Correlations of Pions in Ee− Annihilation at 29 GeV Center-of-mass Energy by :

Measurements of two- and three-particle correlations between like-sign pions produced in ee− annihilation at 29 GeV center-of-mass energy are presented. The analysis is based on data taken during the period 1982--1986 using the TPC/2.gamma. detector at PEP. Two-particle correlations are studied as a function of Q, the momentum difference as measured in the rest frame of the pion pair, and as a function of q0, the energy difference as measured in the lab frame. The Bose-Einstein enhancement is observed when Q is small even when the energy difference, q0, is substantial. This observation provides evidence that the Bose-Einstein correlations are best described by a model that correctly accounts for the relativistic motion of the particle sources. Three-pion correlations are measured both by using a standard three-pion correlation function, and also by using a correlation function for which the correlations between the pairs of pions within the triplet have been subtracted. The observation of three-pion correlations after pair correlations have been subtracted supports the interpretation that the observed correlations are due to Bose-Einstein interference. 56 refs.

Synopsis Measurement of Bose-Einstein Correlations in Pp Collisions at Sqrt(s) by :

Bose-Einstein correlations between identical particles are measured in samples of proton-proton collisions at 0.9 and 7 TeV centre-of-mass energies, recorded by the CMS experiment at the LHC. The signal is observed in the form of an enhancement of number of pairs of same-sign charged particles with small relative momentum. The dependence of this enhancement on kinematic and topological features of the event is studied.

Synopsis Two-pion Bose-Einstein Correlations in Central Pb-Pb Collisions at √sNN by : Kenneth Aamodt

The first measurement of two-pion Bose-Einstein correlations in central Pb-Pb collisions at √sNN=2.76 TeV at the Large Hadron Collider is presented. We observe a growing trend with energy now not only for the longitudinal and the outward but also for the sideward pion source radius. The pion homogeneity volume and the decoupling time are significantly larger than those measured at RHIC.

Synopsis Stopping and Two-pion Bose-Einstein Correlation Results from CERN Experiment NA35 by :

Two probes of relativistic heavy ion collisions at 200 GeV/A are discussed. The extent of nuclear stopping via measurement of ''proton'' rapidity distributions is presented as a function of centrality. The amount of stopping seen is consistent with what is expected from proton-nucleus data at similar energies. Also, two- pion Bose-Einstein correlations are presented as a function of rapidity and relative transverse momentum. These results are discussed in terms of a simple hydrodynamical model.
