Synopsis With My Little Eye by : Sandra Hogan
The very funny true story of three children recruited by their parents to work for ASIO in the 1950s. 'Hilarious, moving and brilliantly told' - Susan Johnson 'It reads like the very best of spy thrillers.' - Matthew Condon 'An intimate and compelling look at an ordinary family who happen to be ASIO agents.' - Kristina Olsson Growing up in the 1950s, the three Doherty children were trained by their parents to memorise car number plates, to spot unusual behaviour on the street and, most important of all, to avoid drawing attention to themselves. The children became unwitting foot soldiers in Australia's battle against Soviet infiltration in the Cold War. They attended political rallies, stood watch on houses owned by communist sympathisers, and insinuated themselves into the UFO Society. In 1956 the Doherty family went on a beach holiday with Vladimir and Evdokia Petrov, the famous Soviet defectors, who were hiding from Soviet assassins. Dudley and Joan Doherty swore their children to secrecy, and for decades, they didn't even discuss among themselves the work they did for ASIO. With My Little Eye is a poignant and very funny account of a peculiar childhood in 1950s suburban Australia.

Synopsis I Spy with My Little Eye by : Humphry House
Frustrated with the colonial policing and “spyarchy” that had taken over administration in Bengal, Humphry House wrote I Spy with My Little Eye in 1937. The satirical pamphlet features a fascinating cast of local characters: from Ilsa, a blonde saxophonist at the Continental Hotel, to a shape-shifting Brahmin who morphs into a police inspector. For the first time in over 80 years, this curious work is being reprinted with a new introduction, notes and material from the Humphry House archive. Humphry House (1908-1955) came to India in 1936 and joined Presidency College as Professor of English. He was suspected of being a spy and hounded by the colonial police. Soon after, he left Presidency to join Ripon College. House became a member of the Parichay group and frequented the adda-s where intellectuals, writers and scientists gathered.

Synopsis My Little Eye by : Curtis Voisin
Superpowers are often more than meets the eye! A playful children’s book with a big message, My Little Eye teaches early childhood readers the importance of accepting and celebrating others, regardless of physical differences. Join a game of “I spy” to find the things that not everyone sees—including the goodness inside me and you. This story is dedicated to the authors’ son Theodore, an energetic and curious little boy who was born with microphthalmia, a rare condition that makes his eyes appear different sizes. With My Little Eye, their wish is to change the narrative of how those who are differently abled are viewed, both by themselves and others, showing how kindness, love, and thoughtful actions are what matter most about a person. 5% of the proceeds from each book will go to the Sick Kids Foundation and 5% to support the Vision Institute of Canada.
