Synopsis Win by Submission by : Melynda Price
To win her heart, he'll be in for the fight of his life. After an illegal kick during a CFA title fight fractures Cole Easton's spine, doctors say there's nothing more they can do for the bitter Vegas fighter. They say it's a miracle he can walk, if that's what you call his crutch-dragging limp. Unwilling to give up on him, Cole's manager sends the injured fighter to the best physical therapist he knows: his niece, Katie Miller. When Cole arrives in the small town of Somerset, Wisconsin, he quickly discovers his sly manager may have had reasons other than rehab for sending him to this frozen tundra. After a year of running from an abusive ex-boyfriend, Katie has returned to her hometown to care for her father, who's recovering from a stroke. When Uncle Marcus calls in a favor, she reluctantly finds herself taking on a rancorous MMA fighter, broken at the height of his career. He's insanely sex-on-a-stick hot--and everything she loathes in a man. If Cole thinks his fighting days are over, he's dead wrong. To save Katie from her past and to win her heart, he'll be in for the fight of his life.

Synopsis Submission by : Michel Houellebecq
As the 2022 French Presidential election looms, two candidates emerge as favourites: Marine Le Pen of the Front National, and the charismatic Muhammed Ben Abbes of the growing Muslim Fraternity. Forming a controversial alliance with the political left to block the Front National’s alarming ascendency, Ben Abbes sweeps to power, and overnight the country is transformed. This proves to be the death knell of French secularism, as Islamic law comes into force: women are veiled, polygamy is encouraged and, for our narrator François – misanthropic, middle-aged and alienated – life is set on a new course. Submission is a devastating satire, comic and melancholy by turns, and a profound meditation on faith and meaning in Western society.

Synopsis Religion as Resistance by : Eileen Ryan
When Italian forces landed on the shores of Libya in 1911, many in Italy hailed it as an opportunity to embrace a Catholic national identity through imperial expansion. After decades of acrimony between an intransigent Church and the Italian state, enthusiasm for the imperial adventure helped incorporate Catholic interests in a new era of mass politics. Others among Italian imperialists-military officers and civil administrators-were more concerned with the challenges of governing a Muslim society, one in which the Sufi brotherhood of the Sanusiyya seemed dominant. Eileen Ryan illustrates what Italian imperialists thought would be the best methods to govern in Muslim North Africa and in turn highlights the contentious connection between religious and political authority in Italy. Telling this story requires an unraveling of the history of the Sanusiyya. During the fall of Qaddafi, Libyan protestors took up the flag of the Libyan Kingdom of Idris al-Sanusi, signaling an opportunity to reexamine Libya's colonial past. After decades of historiography discounting the influence of Sanusi elites in Libyan nationalism, the end of this regime opened up the possibility of reinterpreting the importance of religion, resistance, and Sanusi elites in Libya's colonial history. Religion as Resistance provides new perspectives on the history of collaboration between the Italian state and Idris al-Sanusi and questions the dichotomy between resistance and collaboration in the colonial world.

Synopsis This Is Gonna Hurt by : Tito Ortiz
When I look in the mirror, I know that I came from dirt. I came from the streets. Both of my parents are drug addicts. I lived in cars, motels, in the back of people's houses. But now I look in the mirror and realize that I'm somebody. Everybody in this world can have goals and dreams, and they can achieve those goals and dreams if they work hard enough. I came from nothing and I've done it. I smile every time I talk about it. So begins the inspirational tale of Jacob 'Tito' Ortiz, aka the 'Huntington Beach Bad Boy'. Ortiz made his mixed martial arts debut as an amateur at UFC 13. He wasn't interested in being paid or getting a contract -- he just wanted 'to kick somebody's ass'. Before long he was fighting for the UFC Middleweight (200 pound) title, and battled it out in an historic contest with prodigy Frank Shamrock. Ortiz lost, but the fight shaped the future of the division for the next several years to come. The Middleweight title was renamed the Light Heavyweight title and Ortiz again took the belt, successfully defending it five times in the next three years. A controversial opponent, Ortiz remains one of the most exciting Ultimate Fighting Championship fighters to watch. This is the outspoken, no-holds-barred story of his colourful life and career.

Synopsis Journey of Your Soul by : Shepherd Hoodwin
A fascinating discussion of the Michael teachings—an extraordinary body of channeled work that addresses the fundamental questions of what it means to be human—from an expert Michael channel "Michael" is a group of souls who teach that we are eternal beings journeying from the Tao and back again in an adventure of exploration and creativity. Each step along the way, we make choices that shape our experience. For example, after committing to a series of lifetimes, we choose one of seven roles, or soul types: server, priest, artisan, sage, warrior, king, or scholar. These teachings address many age-old questions, such as "How did we become who we are?" "Why are we here?" "Where are we going?" and "How does the universe work?" In addition, Journey of Your Soul sheds light on the channeling process itself, answering questions such as "How does channeling work?" "Why do different channels receive conflicting information?" and "What does it take to become a channel?" Hoodwin shows us that it is possible, and indeed beneficial, to engage all parts of the human consciousness. His unique analytical approach to channeling will help readers gain a firm intellectual understanding of what is involved. In his foreword, Jon Klimo, PhD, author of Channeling: Investigations on Receiving Information from Paranormal Sources, says, "Shepherd Hoodwin has given us one of the best books to date about the phenomenon of channeling. Journey of Your Soul may well also be the best of the Michael books due to its clarity, thoroughness, and detail, and thanks to the fact that the author, an exceptionally clearheaded Michael channel himself, brings real integrity and authenticity to our understanding of Michael in particular and to the channeling process in general."
