Failed law student and ex-outlaw Jacob Merriweather is riding west to start a new life when he strikes up a friendship with Sam Critchley, an eccentric travelling preacher. John Brooker writes in his Introduction: "B westerns have always been part of my life. I decided ... to tour the US by Greyhound bus and try and track down some of my childhood heroes."
