Synopsis The Wagered Widow by : Patricia Veryan
A woman gambles on her heart in this captivating Georgian romance from the author of the Golden Chronicles, “the superstar of the period romance” (Library Journal). A lovely young widow finds herself torn between two men—a dashing rake and a stodgy, but reliable admirer—in an eighteenth-century England confronted with the choice between the Hanoverian and Bonnie Prince Charlie. “The writing is witty and spry and makes use of expressions and idioms that feel authentic, and there is plenty of detail about the fashions, décor and customs of the day, so those of us who like a bit of history in our historical romance certainly won’t be disappointed . . . a light-hearted, frothy read overall.” —All About Romance

Synopsis Children Of The A-Bomb: Testament Of The Boys And Girls Of Hiroshima by : Arata Osada
“Children of the A-Bomb” is a collection of 67 testimonies of Hiroshima survivors culled from a total of more than 2,000, detailing the experiences of these innocent victims on 6th August 1945, as painfully remembered six years later, on what, in the Japanese way of counting, was the seventh anniversary of the event. The book is divided into four sections, according to the grade of the writers in 1951: from grammar to junior, senior and high school, including three undergraduate college students. The length of the testimonies varies from one to ten pages, the longer ones of course being concentrated in the latter half of the book. And though much of the material focuses on the immediate aftermath of the bombing, some of the writers also cover the days and sometimes weeks that followed, insofar as they were affected by the bomb, or perpetuated the victims’ misery with their litany of typhoons, starvation, and radiation sickness and death.—Jean-Francois Virey

Synopsis Weeping Angel by : Stef Ann Holm
Sparks fly between a prim piano teacher and a charming saloon owner in this “sweet and sassy, rollicking and rambunctious” romance novel (Patricia Gaffney, author of To Love and to Cherish) from USA TODAY bestselling author Stef Ann Holm. Frank Brody never gives a second glance to the starched and stiff type of woman. But when Miss Amelia Marshall arrives in Weeping Angel, Frank’s stare puts a flush on her cheeks hotter than the sun wilting her prim apparel. She’s come to town to forget a busted romance and make a living the only respectable way she can: by giving piano lessons. When the only piano in town turns up at Frank’s rundown shebang of a business, the Moon Rock Saloon, Amelia must compromise…never suspecting her temporary arrangement with the disarmingly handsome Mr. Brody will lead to a passion more glorious and unpredictable than anything she had dared to imagine…
