Synopsis Waltz of the Snowflakes by : Elly MacKay
A new holiday classic to add to your collection, this gorgeous wordless picture book by esteemed author-illustrator Elly MacKay celebrates the magic of theater and The Nutcracker as seen through the eyes of a young girl and her grandmother. It is a cold and rainy evening when Gran gives her granddaughter something special: tickets to the ballet. Her granddaughter is reluctant to go. The weather is terrible and they have to wear fancy, uncomfortable clothes. But as the curtains rise on The Nutcracker, the girl's eyes light up as she's introduced to the magic of the theater. The bright costumes, the intricate dances, the magical music, and a new friend all combine to captivate the girl and to bring color to an otherwise dreary evening. Waltz of the Snowflakes is Elly MacKay at her finest, mixing her acclaimed paper-cut artwork with vibrant colors in this whimsical, dreamlike, and inspiring wordless picture book. A must-have for any ballet- and theater-obsessed reader and the perfect gift to be shared during the holidays or any time of year when the world outside needs a little bit of color and vibrancy.

Synopsis Due Process of Inquiry, says Waltz by : Joan Schmidt
'Due Process of Inquiry, says Waltz' is a book about theory on political plate tectonics launched by Kenneth N. Waltz (1924 - 2013) in his very well-known book 'Theory of International Politic;' a book that establishes his work as neo-realism. Waltz’s core theory depicts in a tentative axiomatic system his chief postulate of the two co-existing political systems namely the complementarity of hierarchy and anarchy; complementary as defined by Bohr. It is empirical theory that measures power in the political anarchy in polarity; judged on the standards of Sir Karl Popper. It is also theory that can serve as framework for logics of situation as they spring from the distributional structural dynamics. To capture the fundamental logic of pole's behaviour Waltz imported the principle of survival motive and the notion of 'selection' from Darwinian theory. Natural selection is the empirical principle that bridges Darwinian theory with Popperian falsificationism and Waltzian structural political theory. Natural selection simply resembles falsification. From the point of view of humanism, it is to be remembered that the Darwinian principle of survival and the mechanism of selection are no choices on the part of Darwin, Popper, Waltz, behaviourist scientists, or anybody else. It is no political preference. It is an empirical principle. It merely so happens in life.

Synopsis Dashing Through the Snow by : Lauren Smith
Dash through the snow with these two romantic Regency novels by USA Today Bestseller Lauren Smith. Bewitching the Earl: Daphne Westfall is a lady desperate for a future, one that doesn’t involve her dark past. On a cold night she receives aid from a mysterious stranger, one who tells her she can change her destiny, as long as she agrees to marry the man who wins her. The brooding Scottish lord that offers her his name and home is handsome but there’s something sorrowful in his eyes that feels all too personal to her... Lachlan Grant never wanted to be an earl, but fate has been less than kind to him. At the insistence of a friend, he seeks out a bride and comes face to face with a woman who bewitches him instantly. But they each hold secrets that will haunt them both. With a love blooming delicately between them, will their new found happiness together wilt and fade beneath the frost of the past? Seducing an Heiress on a Train: Seducing an heiress has never been easier... Roguish Oliver, Viscount Conway, desperately needs money to save his family’s estate from debt collectors, and he knows just what to do—marry an heiress. When he sets foot on a train leaving Southampton, he bumps into Rayne, the most bewitching woman he’s ever met, and as luck would have it, she’s an American heiress. The woman swears she won’t marry, especially a fortune hunter. Oliver must win her for his bride at any cost, even if it means compromising the lady on a train and stealing her heart. Avoiding fortune hunters has never been harder... Rayne Egerton is happy to escape the New York ballrooms to travel with her father through England while he tends to business. What should have been an enjoyable Christmas vacation turns upside down with a moment of unexpected passion when a stranger in the cabin next to her steals a scorching kiss. The mysterious Lord Conway is everything that Rayne desires and fears in a man with his sinfully good looks, wicked smile and devastating kiss. As heiress to her father’s fortune, she isn’t going to give up her freedom for any man unless he can love her without her money. As the train rolls through snowy English countryside, she starts to wonder if Oliver may be the Christmas gift she’d been secretly hoping for. *These two novels have been previously published as single titles.

Synopsis Waltzing with Bracey by : Brenda Gilchrist
Were you to cross George Howe Colt's recent classic, The Big House: A Century in the Life of an American Summer Home, with John Grogan's beloved Marley & Me, you might end up with what Brenda Gilchrist has created in Waltzing With Bracey: A Long Reach Home. In this brave and thoughtful memoir, Gilchrist tells the story of learning to claim her place in the world; Deer Isle, Maine; and the wonderfully bossy little corgi, Bracey, who helps her to do so. After a girlhood spent abroad in various world capitals, Gilchrist has never felt entirely at home anywhere, or indeed, particularly confident about who she is. Her family's Deer Isle summer cottage might qualify as an anchor of sorts. But there are so many ghosts up thereso many august forebears to live up to. As a middle-aged New Yorker she confronts her Aunt Eleanor's bequest of the Deer Isle property. Moving to Maine full-time with her corgi puppy in tow, she sets out to claim not just this big, rambling, shingle-style pile of a house but also her own life. Bracey is vital to this process, serving as companion and example. There is a great deal to learn from this energetic little alpha, who seems never to have known a self-doubt in his brief, well-furred life. Here is a love letter to the glories of the Maine Coast and to the human/animal bonds that can so enrich a life.
