Peter Wagner (ca.1781-1811) married Margaret (Peggy) Messersmith in 1802 and lived in Augusta County, Virginia. Descendants and relatives lived in Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado and elsewhere.

John Brooker writes in his Introduction: "B westerns have always been part of my life. I decided ... to tour the US by Greyhound bus and try and track down some of my childhood heroes."
