Synopsis University of California, Santa Cruz 2005-2020 Long-range Development Plan Environmental Impact Report by : University of California, Santa Cruz. Office of Physical Planning and Construction

"This Environmental Impact Report (EIR) assesses the potentially significant environmental effects of the proposed University of California Santa Cruz 2005 Long range development plan (hereinafter 2005 LRDP). The 2005 LRDP has been prepared to accommodate an increase in enrollment and increased academic and research activities at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UC Santa Cruz) to meet the projected educational and research of 1,520 employees over 2003-04 levels. In addition to analyzing the potential impacts of campus growth under the 2005 LRDP at a program level, this EIR addresses the project-specific environmental effects associated with three projects: the Infrastructure Improvement Project, the Family Student Housing Redevelopment Project, and the 2300 Delaware Avenue Project"--1-1, Introduction.

Synopsis Draft Environmental Impact Report for University of California, Santa Cruz 2021 Long Range Development Plan by : Ascent Environmental, Inc

"The 2021 LRDP would serve as the long-term planning document that guides physical campus growth through 2040 on two of the three UC Santa Cruz campus properties located in the City of Santa Cruz: (1) the UC Santa Cruz main residential campus and (2) the Westside Research Park, located at 2300 Delaware Avenue. Together, the main residential campus and Westside Research Park constitute the LRDP area or plan area for the 2021 LRDP. It does not address planning or growth on the third campus property, the Coastal Science Campus, which is governed by a separate Coastal Long Range Development Plan (State Clearinghouse No. 2001112014)...The 2021 LRDP embraces a compact academic core with housing around the periphery. Employee housing would be strategically located to allow access to community resources. An enhanced historic district at the entrance to the main residential campus would provide an improved community interface. Designated reserve areas would be set aside for ecological, cultural, and educational uses and natural space would protect wildlife corridors and scenic views" --
