This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the Second International Conference on the Unified Modeling Language, UML'99, held in Fort Collins, CO, USA in September 1999. Originally published in 2002, this book presents techniques in the application of formal methods to object-based distributed systems. UML is a large and complex language, with many features in need of refinement or clarification, and there are different views about how to use UML to build systems.
