Synopsis This Happens by : Roshonda Alexander
The journey of Shunboo was a young girl who grew up with her stepfather, mother, four sisters, and two brothers. For a short period, until she was removed from her home, she was a very mature girl for her age in physical development. Shunboo was a very pretty girl for her age, and also she was very mature in speech and conversation, which some would say she had a grown mouth, but it was not so. Shunboo understood right and wrong and had a lot of common sense. She would often cry because she felt set apart from others for some reason, such as her peers who were her age, and she could not explain that question. She also could not answer why she exemplified great mannerism, and she understood things very well that she saw more comprehensive than other children her age. She was a very clean girl as well as a caring young girl, who always wanted to help those who got to know her. Shunboo was a friend indeed. Shunboo was a friend and a protector of all. The love of this young girl was amazing. She was a thinker and would often lay always thinking for the better and the greater to come and how she could live in that place of freedom. Yes! This young girl would think of these things as a child. She would often dream that she would be on a pathway walking and the path would seem clear, but all of a sudden, she would fall into the uninvited dark hole while feeling the gravity and the force pulling with weaken defense. She was not able to help her body from being pulled into this hole, and all of a sudden, a powerful presence would come and catch her in the midst of falling.

After serving time in the Louisiana State Prison, Bud Downey spent many months winning a small fortune as a gambler. Feeling confident that he had won enough money, he packed up his stake to begin his journey to Limason, Texashome. After his last winning hand at the gambling table, a couple of disgruntled cowboys were angry that they had lost all their money to the smooth-talking young man. As Bud traveled near the border of Lafayette, Louisiana, he was ambushed, shot, and left for dead in the swampy waters of the bayou. Rosie Jourdian never dreamed that at the young age of eighteen, she would have the sole responsibility of caring for her two young siblings. Who would believe that life could play such an ugly, cruel trick on her life? She was abandoned by her mama and left to raise a six-week-old baby boy and an eleven-year-old brother. While fishing in the bayou to help feed her little family, she discovered a bloody cowboy in the swampy waters. With her friend Justices herbs and potions, they nursed him back to health. The men who were looking for him discovered his whereabouts and burned down Rosies shack, leaving her family homeless. Would this independent young girl go with Bud and leave the only home she has ever known?

Synopsis The Vampire Maurice by : Johnny B. Truant
The mob is out for blood — literally! At the height of prohibition, the real threat on the streets of 1929 Chicago isn't Al Capone and his empire built on bootleg whiskey; it's the vampire mafia. And the liquid they trade is of an altogether deadlier variety. In this hidden world, the vampire mafia is bootlegging an addictive and deadly synthetic blood called Thrill. When the vampire Maurice discovers their blood-running operation, he must act to stop the flow of bootlegged blood, or risk the power balance of the vampire world tipping entirely into the hands of those who have been corrupted. But the mafia doesn't take kindly to interlopers, even those with fangs. The Vampire Maurice is book one of a side series set in the world of the bestselling Fat Vampire world.
