This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-proceedings of the International Symposium on Trustworthy Global Computing, TGC 2005, held in Edinburgh, UK, in April 2005, and colocated with the events of ETAPS 2005. The 11 revised full papers presented together with 8 papers contributed by the invited speakers were carefully selected during 2 rounds of reviewing and improvement from numerous submissions. Topical issues covered by the workshop are resource usage, language-based security, theories of trust and authentication, privacy, reliability and business integrity access control and mechanisms for enforcing them, models of interaction and dynamic components management, language concepts and abstraction mechanisms, test generators, symbolic interpreters, type checkers, finite state model checkers, theorem provers, software principles to support debugging and verification.

This volume contains the proceedings of the fourth edition of the International Symposium on Trustworthy Global Computing (TGC 2008) that was held in Barcelona, Spain, November 3-4, 2008. The Symposium on Trustworthy Global Computing is an international annual venue dedicated to safe and reliable c- putation in global computers. It focuses on providing frameworks, tools, and protocolsfor constructing well-behavedapplications and onreasoningrigorously about their behavior and properties. The related models of computation inc- porate code and data mobility over distributed networks with highly dynamic topologies and heterogeneous devices. This volume contains one invited paper from Gianluigi Zavattaro and co- thors, as well as the revised versions of the 12 contributed papers; these versions take into account both the referees' reports and the discussions that took place during the symposium. The Program Committee selected 12 papers from 26 submissions. Every submission was reviewed by at least three members of the Program Committee. In addition, the Program Committee sought the opinions of additional referees, selected because of their expertise in particular topics.
