Synopsis Design And Analysis Of Reliable And Fault-tolerant Computer Systems by : Mostafa I Abd-el-barr

Covering both the theoretical and practical aspects of fault-tolerant mobile systems, and fault tolerance and analysis, this book tackles the current issues of reliability-based optimization of computer networks, fault-tolerant mobile systems, and fault tolerance and reliability of high speed and hierarchical networks. The book is divided into six parts to facilitate coverage of the material by course instructors and computer systems professionals. The sequence of chapters in each part ensures the gradual coverage of issues from the basics to the most recent developments. A useful set of references, including electronic sources, is listed at the end of each chapter./a

Synopsis Electronic Systems Effectiveness and Life Cycle Costing by : J. K. Skwirzynski

This volume contains the complete proceedings of a NATO Advanced Study Institute on various aspects of the reliability of electronic and other systems. The aim of the Insti~ute was to bring together specialists in this subject. An important outcome of this Conference, as many of the delegates have pointed out to me, was complementing theoretical concepts and practical applications in both software and hardware. The reader will find papers on the mathematical background, on reliability problems in establishments where system failure may be hazardous, on reliability assessment in mechanical systems, and also on life cycle cost models and spares allocation. The proceedings contain the texts of all the lectures delivered and also verbatim accounts of panel discussions on subjects chosen from a wide range of important issues. In this introduction I will give a short account of each contribution, stressing what I feel are the most interesting topics introduced by a lecturer or a panel member. To visualise better the extent and structure. of the Institute, I present a tree-like diagram showing the subjects which my co-directors and I would have wished to include in our deliberations (Figures 1 and 2). The names of our lecturers appear underlined under suitable headings. It can be seen that we have managed to cover most of the issues which seemed important to us. Synopsis Handbook of Performability Engineering by : Krishna B. Misra

Dependability and cost effectiveness are primarily seen as instruments for conducting international trade in the free market environment. These factors cannot be considered in isolation of each other. This handbook considers all aspects of performability engineering. The book provides a holistic view of the entire life cycle of activities of the product, along with the associated cost of environmental preservation at each stage, while maximizing the performance.

Synopsis Artificial Intelligence in Models, Methods and Applications by : Olga Dolinina

This book is based on the accepted research papers presented in the International Conference "Artificial Intelligence in Engineering & Science" (AIES-2022). The aim of the AIES Conference is to bring together researchers involved in the theory of computational intelligence, knowledge engineering, fuzzy systems, soft computing, machine learning and related areas and applications in engineering, bioinformatics, industry, medicine, energy, smart city, social spheres and other areas. This book presents new perspective research results: models, methods, algorithms and applications in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Particular emphasis is given to the medical applications - medical images recognition, development of the expert systems which could be interesting for the AI researchers as well for the physicians looking for the new ideas in medicine. The central audience of the book are researchers, industrial practitioners, students specialized in the Artificial Intelligence.
