Synopsis Topics in Geometric Inequalities by : Titu Andreescu
As a sequel to 113 Geometric Inequalities from the AwesomeMath Summer Program, this book extends the themes discussed in the former book and broadens a problem-solver's competitive arsenal. Strategies from multiple fields, such as Algebra, Calculus, and pure Geometry provide the reader with varied methods useful in mathematics competitions. Starting with the fundamentals such as the triangle inequality and ""broken lines'', the book progresses increasingly to more sophisticated machinery such as the Averaging Method, Quadratic Forms, Finite Fourier Transforms, Level Curves, the Erdös-Mordell and Brunn-Minkowski Inequalities, as well as the Isoperimetric Theorem, to name a few. Rich theory and generalizations accompany the aforementioned topics to supply the reader with a rigorous exploration of fields associated with geometric inequalities.

Synopsis 113 Geometric Inequalities from the AwesomeMath Summer Program by : Adrian Andreescu
For the curious reader looking to sharpen their arsenal of mathematical strategies on the Olympiad level, 113 Geometric Inequalities from the AwesomeMath Summer Program is a valuable addition. This problem-solving methodology prompts key ideas in other domains such as calculus or complex numbers as the solutions are usually nonstandard in a geometric sense. Nevertheless, trying your hand at these types of inequalities consolidates your mathematical reasoning while exposing you to a broad range of problems, all teeming with insightful inequality-type solutions.

Synopsis Inequalities by : Radmila Bulajich Manfrino
This book is intended for the Mathematical Olympiad students who wish to prepare for the study of inequalities, a topic now of frequent use at various levels of mathematical competitions. In this volume we present both classic inequalities and the more useful inequalities for confronting and solving optimization problems. An important part of this book deals with geometric inequalities and this fact makes a big difference with respect to most of the books that deal with this topic in the mathematical olympiad. The book has been organized in four chapters which have each of them a different character. Chapter 1 is dedicated to present basic inequalities. Most of them are numerical inequalities generally lacking any geometric meaning. However, where it is possible to provide a geometric interpretation, we include it as we go along. We emphasize the importance of some of these inequalities, such as the inequality between the arithmetic mean and the geometric mean, the Cauchy-Schwarz inequality, the rearrangementinequality, the Jensen inequality, the Muirhead theorem, among others. For all these, besides giving the proof, we present several examples that show how to use them in mathematical olympiad problems. We also emphasize how the substitution strategy is used to deduce several inequalities.

Synopsis Inequalities by : B.J. Venkatachala
This book discusses about the basic topics on inequalities and their applications. These include the arithmetic mean–geometric mean inequality, Cauchy–Schwarz inequality, Chebyshev inequality, rearrangement inequality, convex and concave functions and Muirhead's theorem. The book contains over 400 problems with their solutions. A chapter on geometric inequalities is a special feature of this book. Most of these problems are from International Mathematical Olympiads and from many national mathematical Olympiads. The book is intended to help students who are preparing for various mathematical competitions. It is also a good source book for graduate students who are consolidating their knowledge of inequalities and their applications.

Synopsis Topics in Groups and Geometry by : Tullio Ceccherini-Silberstein
This book provides a detailed exposition of a wide range of topics in geometric group theory, inspired by Gromov’s pivotal work in the 1980s. It includes classical theorems on nilpotent groups and solvable groups, a fundamental study of the growth of groups, a detailed look at asymptotic cones, and a discussion of related subjects including filters and ultrafilters, dimension theory, hyperbolic geometry, amenability, the Burnside problem, and random walks on groups. The results are unified under the common theme of Gromov’s theorem, namely that finitely generated groups of polynomial growth are virtually nilpotent. This beautiful result gave birth to a fascinating new area of research which is still active today. The purpose of the book is to collect these naturally related results together in one place, most of which are scattered throughout the literature, some of them appearing here in book form for the first time. In this way, the connections between these topics are revealed, providing a pleasant introduction to geometric group theory based on ideas surrounding Gromov's theorem. The book will be of interest to mature undergraduate and graduate students in mathematics who are familiar with basic group theory and topology, and who wish to learn more about geometric, analytic, and probabilistic aspects of infinite groups.

Synopsis The Analysis and Geometry of Hardy's Inequality by : Alexander A. Balinsky
This volume presents advances that have been made over recent decades in areas of research featuring Hardy's inequality and related topics. The inequality and its extensions and refinements are not only of intrinsic interest but are indispensable tools in many areas of mathematics and mathematical physics. Hardy inequalities on domains have a substantial role and this necessitates a detailed investigation of significant geometric properties of a domain and its boundary. Other topics covered in this volume are Hardy- Sobolev-Maz’ya inequalities; inequalities of Hardy-type involving magnetic fields; Hardy, Sobolev and Cwikel-Lieb-Rosenbljum inequalities for Pauli operators; the Rellich inequality. The Analysis and Geometry of Hardy’s Inequality provides an up-to-date account of research in areas of contemporary interest and would be suitable for a graduate course in mathematics or physics. A good basic knowledge of real and complex analysis is a prerequisite.
