""The Mage and Creature Ordinances of 2010 state, in layman's terms, that any non-human entity that is found will be removed from human civilization until they have proven beyond a reasonable doubt that they will not harm any of the human species nor will they procreate without first registering the intent to have an offspring."" Kaityln Valinski is missing. Kaitlyn Valinski is also fae and the police are only putting in the bare minimum to find her. Bleeding heart private detective Ben Cole takes on her case when her older sister begs for help despite the stigma. But between suspicious memory gaps, uncooperative witnesses, the reappearance of Ben's first love, and Kaitlyn's ghost haunting his office it seems as though something much worse than her running away is going on and Ben's going to need everything he has in him to solve the mystery.

Synopsis The History of Witchcraft in Europe by : John Ashton
Witchcraft in Europe was believed to be a combination of sorcery and heresy. While sorcery attempts to produce negative supernatural effects through formulas and rituals, heresy is the Christian contribution to witchcraft in which an individual makes a pact with the Devil. In addition, heresy denies witches the recognition of important Christian values such as baptism, salvation, Christ and sacraments. In Early Modern European tradition, witches were stereotypically, though not exclusively, women. European pagan belief in witchcraft was associated with the goddess Diana and dismissed as "diabolical fantasies" by medieval Christian authors. Witch-hunts first appeared in large numbers during the 14th and 15th centuries. It was commonly believed that individuals with power and prestige were involved in acts of witchcraft and even cannibalism. Synopsis The Devil's Disciples by : Peter Charles Hoffer
Approaching the subject as a legal and social historian, Peter Charles Hoffer offers a fresh look at the Salem outbreak based on recent studies of panic rumors, teen hysteria, child abuse, and intrafamily relations. He brings to life a set of conversations -- in taverns and courtrooms, at home and work -- which took place among suspected witches, accusers, witnesses, and spectators. The accusations, denials, and confessions of this legal story eventually resurrect the tangled internal tensions that lay at the bottom of the Salem witch hunts.

Synopsis Satan & Salem by : Benjamin C. Ray
This book looks beyond single-factor interpretations to offer a far more nuanced view of why the Salem witch-hunt spiraled out of control. Rather than assigning blame to a single perpetrator, Ray assembles portraits of several major characters, each of whom had complex motives for accusing his or her neighbors. In this way, he reveals how religious, social, political, and legal factors all played a role in the drama.
