Synopsis The Voyage of Sam Singh by : Gita Ralleigh
In Gita Ralleigh's second magical middle grade adventure set in a parallel colonial India, land-pirate Sam Singh sails to an isle teeming with spirits and secrets on a perilous journey to find the truth. 'We are kings of the forest, Let them tame us if they can!' Sam's older brother, Moon, has been missing for three long years. Moon is a skilled thief, but Sam fears Moon's luck has finally run out. It's rumoured he's held in the Octopus, a notorious prison on the Isle of Lost Voices, from which no one has ever escaped alive. Leaving his tribe of land-pirates behind, Sam sets sail with the shady Professor Bogusz and his faithful parrot, Suka. With help from a young forest guide called Lola, they trek deep into the island's interior, a place where spirits dwell and the Octopus casts a deadly shadow. With a storm brewing and the clock ticking, Sam is in a race against time to break into the prison, save Moon and find a brighter future for them all.

Synopsis The Clanlands Almanac by : Sam Heughan

Synopsis Diaspora Christianities by : Sam George
South Asians make up one of the largest diasporas in the world and Christians form a relatively large share of it. Christians from the Indian subcontinent have successfully transplanted themselves all over the globe, and many from different faith backgrounds have embraced Christianity at overseas locations. This volume includes biblical reflections on diasporic life, charts the historical and geographical spread of South Asian Christianity, and closes with a call to missional living in diaspora. It analyzes how migrants revive Christianity in adopted host nations and ancestral homelands. This book portrays the fascinating saga of Christians of South Asian origin who have pitched their tents in the furthest corners of the globe and showcases triumphs and challenges of scattered communities. It presents the contemporary religious experiences from a plethora of discrete perspectives. It deals with issues such as community history, struggles of identity and belonging, linkage of religious and cultural traditions, preservation and adaptation of faith practices, ties between ancestral homeland and host nation, and diasporic moral dilemmas in diaspora. This book argues that human scattering amplifies diversity within Christianity and for the need for hetrogeneous unity amidst great diversities.

Synopsis Imagined Londons by : Pamela K. Gilbert
Imagined Londons explores the diverse ways that Britain's "global city" has been imagined and represented in literature, history, the arts, and popular culture, from the mid–nineteenth century to the present day. American and British contributors examine a variety of topics, ranging from poetry to architecture, from dance music to gay pornography, from "tube" maps to the role of Bangladeshi communities in shaping contemporary London politics. Broadly interdisciplinary and deeply attentive to London's historical diversity, the book is unified by its attention to a single question: How have the many imaginations and representations of London shaped—and been shaped by—history and culture? The answers provided within this volume offer the chance to view London in surprising new ways.

Synopsis The Homestead by : Sam Mangat
In a fit of drunken bravado, Co-Navigator Anthony Troy tries a stunt to impress his date of the evening. While the rest of the ship parties away the Diamond Jubilee of the New Era, the duo soon find themselves in a terrible jam. Both get lost in space. It is then that he also discovers that the lady in question is none other than the only daughter of Marshall Bingenbatten, who happens to be the most powerful man in the Asteroid belt space stations, and tipped to be the Grand Marshall of the Space Fleet of Earth. Though they are rescued by a near miracle, Anthony soon finds himself in a bigger mess than before, all because of the lady. With the result the entire hierarchy of the Space Fleet comes down on him like the proverbial ton of bricks. He is left with no option but to flee Earth and head for Mars, where the mutants are being dumped by the pure beings of Earth. There he is surprised to find these unfortunate victims of the nuclear holocaust, have recovered from the humiliations heaped on them, and are building a fleet to contest the Solar System. They have also renamed the planet. Since it is now their new home, they call it the Homestead. They are aware (even though the Earthlings are not) that due to the large amount of energy released by the nuclear explosions, the Earth has begun to slow down. Which means, the pure beings will also sooner or later have to migrate to the Homestead. This they would have to do either on the terms of the mutants, or it would be war. He joins them eagerly, as he has always been against the enforced exodus of the mutants, and places his experience at their disposal. Both sides then head for the climatic (and now famous) Battle of the Shepherd Moons, one of the most decisive battles in the history of the Earth (Note: The Homestead, the authors maiden venture, reached the Quarter Finals in the Writers Digest Annual Writing Contest, Beverley Hills, CA.)
