Synopsis The Silent Apostle Ii by : Andrew David Doyle FDA
Kemp Hastings and his investigative colleague Doctor Darlene Gammay are pursued by the Grand Lodge of Cairo (GLOC) who are hellbent on murdering Darlene now that she has been given a glimpse into the afterlife having been gifted with the power of the ancient Egyptian ritual known as the Assignation. Darlene is transported into the afterlife and endures what she can only describe as a live and very disturbing embalming event, is this an ancient curse that has been bestowed upon the disbeliever or is this a step in our time for the betterment of mankind. Having had to flee from the Cairo museum to Malta the couple are accompanied by Professor Mohammed Elfecky who is working to a more deadly agenda. Has the Apostles Apostle Mary Magdalene really targeted Doctor Gammay by leaving a tattoed image spread across her back and shoulders, or is this an infliction delivered by an inexplicable series of circumstances that Kemp Hastings struggles to rationalise.

Synopsis The Acts of the Apostles by : Gotthard Victor Lechler
Presented here, in paperback for the first time, is John Peter Lange's Theologischhomiletisches Bibelwerk. Intended to help preachers prepare sermons the commentary series is essentially biblical and evangelical catholic. This 19th century commentary has served as a standard reference for more than a century. Many early reviewers regarded Schaff's edition with his additional material as superior to the original. It has proven to be a complete and useful Commentary and continues to prove especially valuable to ministers. It contains critical annotations of the text and its translation, and a threefold commentary, exegetical, doctrinal, and homiletical. Under these three heads the text is viewed from every aspect.

Synopsis Jesus in the Manichaean Writings by : Majella Franzmann
Manichaeism was a dualistic religious system with Christian, Gnostic and pagan elements, founded in Persia in the third century by Manes. This is the first full-length study of the Manichaean Jesus, since the publication of several major Manichaean texts such as the Homilies, Psalm Book and Kephalaia in the 1930s and 1940s. A knowledge of Manichaean Christology is important for any understanding of the development of Christologies in the early cen-turies CE, whether within mainstream Christianity or within associated het-erodox groups. This book undertakes a comprehensive study of six distinct figures of Jesus that can be found in both Eastern and Western Manichaean lit-erature. Previous partial studies of Manichaean Christology have tended to restrict their focus to texts from either Eastern or Western traditions alone. Majella Franzmann argues that a single Manichaean Jesus can be discerned behind the many different representations to be found.

Synopsis Signs of Continuity by : Greg Rhodea
For more than a century, scholars have debated whether Paul the apostle was a faithful follower of Jesus or a corruptor of Jesus’s message and the true founder of Christianity. Signs of Continuity intervenes in this debate by exploring a largely overlooked element of similarity between the two men: the place of miracles in their ministries. In his close analysis of the miracles performed by Jesus and Paul, Greg Rhodea points to signs of continuity between these two historical figures of Christianity. He argues that both Jesus and Paul understood their miracles as accompanying and actualizing a message of gracious inclusion of the marginalized, resisted proving their ability to work miracles to those who asked for a sign despite the importance of miracle-working to their personal authentication, and interpreted miracles as proof of the presence of the eschatological kingdom. Based on these similarities, Rhodea concludes that Paul the apostle knew of Jesus’s miracles and that he imitated Jesus in his own ministry of miracle-working. In highlighting this previously unexplored area of continuity, Rhodea makes a significant contribution to the debate over the relationship between Jesus and Paul. Biblical scholars and students interested in this debate will find Signs of Continuity enlightening and informative.
