Synopsis The Road to Respect by : Jennifer Andrade

Melanie is in her first year of college. She goes to class every day. She goes to the library every night. And she works in between. She's majoring in business. Her life is moving her toward the direction that it was expected to take. The life she wanted. Or so she thought. That all changed with an awkward encounter with the campus bad boy, and ended with an attempt to right a wrong for the town's juvenile delinquent. And Melanie found that college is not really about taking that expected path. It's about losing your way and the struggle it takes to finding it again. It's about learning that there are several roads toward that goal, not just the one your parents expected you to take. And it's learning about yourself through the friendships and loves that you make along the way. It's about falling in lust. It's about falling in love. It's about heartaches and heartbreaks. It's about finding friends in the most unlikely of persons. It's about the road to respect.

Synopsis The Road to Barcelona by : Dave Smith

'EIGHT YEARS WITH RANGERS, MORE THAN 300 GAMES, INCREDIBLE HIGHS, PAINFUL LOWS – AND IT ALL CAME DOWN TO ONE NIGHT IN THE NOU CAMP' 24 May 1972. The biggest night in the history of Rangers. Having overcome the might of Italian giants Torino and Beckenbauer's Bayern Munich en route to the final of the European Cup Winners' Cup, Dynamo Moscow stood between the Light Blues and the trophy. The stage was set in Barcelona for an unsung hero: Dave Smith. Creator of two of the goals on the night and arguably man of the match. In a rollercoaster career, Smith joined the Ibrox club from Aberdeen in 1966 for a record fee. He tasted defeat in the 1967 European Cup Winners' Cup final and had his career blighted by two horrific leg breaks during a period in which he also experienced the tragedy of the Ibrox disaster. But by 1972 Smith was a lynchpin of Willie Waddell's team. Playing as sweeper, he dicated the tempo of games with his vision and pinpoint passing. The star of the Nou Camp victory was voted Player of the Year in Scotland to cap the most memorable of seasons. He departed Rangers in 1974, making a shock switch to Arbroath after a fallout with new Ibrox manager Jock Wallace, before going on to star overseas in South Africa and then alongside George Best for the LA Aztecs in America. Rejecting the chance to join Paris Saint-Germain, Smith chose to end his career in Scotland's lower leagues as player-manager at Berwick Rangers where he would find success and happiness playing the game the way it was meant to be played.

Synopsis The Road to Audacity by : S. Carter

Being audacious and adventurous can be inspiring, yet many of us hesitate to follow this path because of our concerns for comfort and security. In this bold book, Carter and Kourdi examine a radical new approach to being successful. The authors argue that success comes most easily to those who accept, and harness, the beneficial effects of risk. Communicating simple but powerful ideas with passion, this book guides individuals and organizations through the techniques that will help them to become more vigorous, motivated, effective and ultimately successful. Including original interviews and insights from people that have used audacity to get where they are, Road to Audacity shows why current approaches to life and work are increasingly outmoded. This book is vital reading for anyone who wants to make a success of their career, and their life.

Synopsis The Road to Nursing by : Nick Arnott

Being an effective and well-rounded nurse in Australia is not just about technical skills - it's also about thinking like a nurse. The Road to Nursing helps students develop clinical reasoning and critical reflection skills, understand the philosophical and ethical considerations necessary to care for clients and reflect on how to provide care that meets the unique needs of clients. This edition retains three parts which guide students through their transition to university, formation of a professional identity and progression to professional practice. A revised chapter order improves the transition between topics and a new chapter explores the ever-changing Australian health landscape, including recent technological innovations. Each chapter includes definitions of key terms, reflection questions, perspectives from nurses, end-of-chapter review questions, research topics and resources that connect students with the real-world practice of nursing. Written by healthcare experts, The Road to Nursing is a fundamental resource for students beginning a nursing career.
