Synopsis Baxter's Explore the Book by : J. Sidlow Baxter
Explore the Book is not a commentary with verse-by-verse annotations. Neither is it just a series of analyses and outlines. Rather, it is a complete Bible survey course. No one can finish this series of studies and remain unchanged. The reader will receive lifelong benefit and be enriched by these practical and understandable studies. Exposition, commentary, and practical application of the meaning and message of the Bible will be found throughout this giant volume. Bible students without any background in Bible study will find this book of immense help as will those who have spent much time studying the Scriptures, including pastors and teachers. Explore the Book is the result and culmination of a lifetime of dedicated Bible study and exposition on the part of Dr. Baxter. It shows throughout a deep awareness and appreciation of the grand themes of the gospel, as found from the opening book of the Bible through Revelation.

Synopsis Lord, I’M Available; You Can Use Me by : Musa Bako
Lord, Im Available; You Can Use Me is written as a handbook for men and women in ministry and for those who are seeking to serve God effectively and to influence their generation. God will use anybody and any situation to serve his purpose. He is the Creator of all things and Lord of all the earth; he can reach out, touch, and take anything he chooses for use, but it is not just anybody he uses for an honorable assignment. Through the pages of Lord, Im Available; You Can Use Me, you will discover: the generation of them who are seekers of God; the three categories of people in churchesspectators, receivers, and worshippersand what they bring; what God found in David, the son of Jesse, causing him to raise him to be a great king of Israel and an ancestor of Jesus; the five types of vessels that God takes and uses for great and honorable assignments; the gifts of the Spirit, why they are given, and how to operate them; ways of staying spiritually healthy and connected to God; and why the Second Coming of Jesus tarries. God is always seeking for men and women upon whom he can pour out his Spirit for the end-time revival and harvest. There is a time of great harvest before us. God is seeking for someone he can bless spiritually, financially, and materially; someone he can use to execute his plan and purpose here on earth. He is seeking for someone he can use to change a nation, empower the weak, undo poverty in the life of someone, and help bring freedom and dignity to a people. You can be that person God is seeking for.

Synopsis Essays: Critical and Historical by : Blessed John Henry Newman
To you, my dear William, I dedicate these miscellaneous compositions, old and new, as to a true friend, dear to me in your own person, and in your family, and in the special claim which your brother Hurrell has upon my memory;—as one, who, amid unusual trials of friendship, has always been fair to me, never unkind;—as one, who has followed the long course of controversy, of which these Volumes are a result and record, with a large sympathy for those engaged in it, and a deep sense of the responsibilities of religious inquiry, and the sacredness of religious truth. Synopsis The Septuagint Version of Isaiah and Cognate Studies by : Isaac Leo Seeligmann
The present volume makes accessible once more the groundbreaking work The Septuagint Version of Isaiah (1948) by Isac Leo Seeligmann (1907-1982), accompanied by two studies that have to be seen as prolegomena to the book. Both studies were published originally in the Dutch language, and the English translation of one of them appears in this volume for the first time. Seeligmann aims to understand the Septuagint as a witness of Hellenistic Judaism striving to maintain the text's special character as a document of faith. At the same time all of Seeligmann's works edited in this volume are documents of the suffering of European Judaism during the time of National Socialism. The new edition provides evidence of Seeligmann's approach to the Septuagint as a witness of Hellenistic Judaism which strives to maintain the text's special character as a document of faith. Because of this new access from the perspective of content and method, Seeligmann's influence on Septuagint research became so strong that it has lasted up to the present. The reader will realise that the history of Israel during the Hellenistic period does not simply represent an object of scholarly research for Seeligmann but also serves as the background for the interpretation of the history of the Jewish people in his own time.
