Synopsis The Nirex Collection: Diplomacy in revolution by :

A ten volume, 9,000 page account of 12 years of happenings in Nicaragua coinciding with insurrection & the revolutionary years (1978-1990). Its purpose is to furnish a documental tool collection equivalent to attending a well equipped library or specialized documentation center. Looking up the different angles & perspectives of this geo-political phenomenon, you may formulate your own analytical criteria on the subject. History is always relevant. "It is a condition of resurgence. It possesses the virtue of experience. It frees us from what was, because the past is 'revenant.' If it is not documented by our memory, it turns against us, & drowns us. Let us go over the past to make it fertile." (O. Gasset). THE NIREX COLLECTION is the only compilation of documents with voices of all belligerent sides of the conflict. This is a profoundly objective, panoramic, encyclopedic, documentary view of the process taken from books, journals, newspapers, official releases & private sources. It contains information not currently found in the United States. A complete library on Nicaragua. A $2,000.00 worth of resources for $775.00 in numbers. Its 45 lbs. are worth its weight in resources. A contribution to the academic community, diplomatic world & the government policy makers.

Synopsis Continental Tectonics and Mountain Building by : Richard D. Law

The Geological Survey's 1907 Memoir 'The Geological Structure of the North-West Highlands of Scotland' outlined many of the principles of field-based structural and tectonic analysis that have subsequently guided generations of geologists working in other mountain belts, both ancient and modern. These 32 papers celebrate the centenary of the 1907 Memoir by placing the original findings in both historical and modern contexts, and juxtaposing them against present-day studies of deformation processes operating not only in the NW Highlands, but also in other mountain belts.

Synopsis Structural Geology Algorithms by : Richard Waldron Allmendinger

"Structural Geology has been taught, largely unchanged, for the last 50 years or more. The lecture part of most courses introduces students to concepts such as stress and strain, as well as more descriptive material like fault and fold terminology. The lab part of the course usually focuses on practical problem solving, mostly traditional me-thods for describing quantitatively the geometry of structures. While the lecture may introduce advanced concepts such as tensors, the lab commonly trains the student to use a combination of graphical methods like orthographic or spherical projection, as well as a variety of plane trigonometry solutions to various problems. This leads to a disconnect between lecture concepts that require a very precise understanding of coor-dinate systems (e.g., tensors) and lab methods that appear to have no common spatial or mathematical foundation. Students have no chance to understand that, for example, seemingly unconnected constructions like down-plunge projections and Mohr circles share a common mathematical heritage: they are both graphical representations of coordinate transformations"--Provided by publisher.
