This is part 1 of a 3 part series. Spit forth from the maw of the sea comes the Naked Boy. This unformed little boy is given the task of following the railroad west to kill Ursa Major– The Great Bear–and save his sister. Along the way he alters the landscape; a landscape that is America’s mythic subconscious. The Naked Boy Part 1 is the beginning of an epic journey from the springtime shores of the East Coast to the late harvest of the West. Mythic and historical figures co-mingle and clash in thismeditation on North America. The continent will never be the same.

The Naked Boy continues on his westward journey in the penultimate chapter of this American epic. The Naked Boy and his new friend Frank the Bum meet Big Man and the last of his tribe. They join together to face off in a last stand against The Boy General. Meanwhile, all the characters in this birth of the nation story move inexorably west for a final collision on the other side of the mountains.

At an unknown time in the future, after the dark war, the wizards took over the governments, they divided the earth into five broad areas, and in each area, the most potent wizards came to power. In the central region, the black-clad wizards came to power after defeating the white-clad wizards. Of course, they had many enemies, but they were ferocious, and with the help of forbidden magic, they created magical creatures to control the people well and prevent their revolt. It is at this time that our story begins. Our story is about a boy named Alex, who, when he was seven years old, his family was killed by a black-clad wizard named Keyholder, and Alex was cursed by him to live like a prisoner. But all things change when he turns fifteen. At such a time, Gary, who was his caretaker, shows him a package that belonged to Alex's father. Gary says he has to give the package to Alex's father's friend and no doubt Alex 's life will change after that.

Being one of millions of the Baby Boomer generation, I not only did my part in overpopulating the world, but also watched the remarkable transition of society and the world in general as my body and mind grew. Holding on to small mysteries and things that I did not want to lose from my life, I essentially have never grown up, and after nearly seventy years have acclimated to the fact I will never - ever - grow up, no matter what older people tell me to do. These are the life stories of a boy growing older while the world of technology emerged. As this transition marched on, this boy saw his world around him transform from a world in which imagination - fantasy - led to intellectual growth, to a new generation possessed with the idea that their lives are dependent on technology. Computers, smart phones, devices - all have taken the place of creativity. Lessons of the Naked Boy are life's simple philosophies that we must remember to keep from becoming victims of our own technology.
