Synopsis Strange Vagabond of God by : John Dove
John Bradburne's life was a remarkable spiritual odyssey. After wartime service on the Indian sub-continent he became a perennial pilgrim, never at home in the world, not even in his native England. Restless wanderings led him through Europe to the Holy Land, to a succession of religious communities, and ultimately to Africa, where he met a violent death during the Zimbabwean war of independence in 1979. This astonishing account of his life among the lepers, and the astonishing events at his funeral, make it clear that here was a man marked with special charisma, who was marked out for sanctity. Since his death devotion to his memory has sprung up in southern Africa and elsewhere. Poet, mystic, hermit and vagabond, John Bradburne's life was a ceaseless quest for God. Fr John Dove SJ first met John Bradburne during the Second World War. He entered the Jesuits in 1949 and served the Zimbabwe mission for over thirty years.

Synopsis The Mystical Magical Miracle by : ,Rosanne
It is a title that expresses the tangible and intangible intelligences of our existing creation. As in vibration and frequency invisible forces. As in the intelligence that unfolds with the uniting of egg and sperm when united as in the miracle of a seed to know what to become when planted. All aspects of life hold a mystical magical miracle within.

Synopsis The Vagabond's Way by : Rolf Potts
“Thought-provoking, encouraging, and inspiring” (Gretchen Rubin) reflections on the power of travel to transform our daily lives—from the iconoclastic travel writer, scholar, and author of Vagabonding For readers who dream of travel, yearn to get back out on the road, or want to enrich a journey they’re currently on, The Vagabond’s Way explores and celebrates the life-altering essence of travel all year long. Each day of the year features a meditation on an aspect of the journey, anchored by words of wisdom from a variety of thinkers—from Stoic philosopher Seneca and poet Maya Angelou to Trappist monk Thomas Merton and Grover from Sesame Street. Iconoclastic travel writer and scholar Rolf Potts embraces the ragged-edged, harder-to-quantify aspects of travel that inevitably change travelers’ lives for the better in unexpected ways. The book’s various sections mirror the phases of a trip, including • dreaming and planning the journey: “All life-affecting journeys—and the unexpected wonders they promise—become real the moment you decide they will happen.” • embracing the rhythms of the journey: “The most poignant experiences on the road occur in those quiet moments when we recognize beauty in the ordinary.” • finding richer travel experiences: “Developing an instinct to venture beyond the obvious on the road allows you to see places as mysteries to be investigated.” • expanding your comfort zone: “No moment of instant gratification can compare to savoring an experience that has been earned by enduring the adversity that comes with it.” The Vagabond’s Way encourages you to sustain the mindset of a journey, even when you aren’t able to travel, and affirms that travel is as much a way of being as it is an act of movement.

Synopsis Gold by : Rumi
A vibrant selection of poems by the great Persian mystic with groundbreaking translations by an American poet of Persian descent. Rumi’s poems were meant to induce a sense of ecstatic illumination and liberation in his audience, bringing its members to a condition of serenity, compassion, and oneness with the divine. They remain masterpieces of world literature to which readers in many languages continually return for inspiration and succor, as wellas aesthetic delight. This new translation by Haleh Liza Gafori preserves the intelligence and the drama of the poems, which are as full of individual character as they are of visionary wisdom. Marilyn Hacker praises Gafori’s new translations of Rumi as “the work of someone who is at once an acute and enamored reader of the original Farsi text, a dedicated miner of context and backstory, and, best of all, a marvelous poet in English.”
