The book is a systematic, objective and critical analysis of the political history of Manipur as well as the genesis, growth and rise of the political and constitutional movement in the erstwhile princely state of Manipur from 1919 till its merger with the union of India.

This volume presents an interdisciplinary framework to map out contemporary educational studies in India. Based on conceptual tools, quantitative methods and ethnographic accounts drawn from extensive fieldwork, it addresses emerging discourses on educational policies, their operation in the everyday functioning of institutions and actual practices in teaching and learning. Individual chapters discuss the intersectionality in the current educational system of region, gender, class, caste and minorities. This book presents a systematic study of the transformation of the specific socio-political identity of the Muslims in Assam. Explores how religious travel in India is transforming religious identities and self-constructions.
