Synopsis The McKenzie Artifact by : Alison Kent

Meet the members of the Smithson Group—five alpha males whose best work is done undercover. Unimaginably skilled, they’re the spies you want on your side…of the bed. Eli McKenzie’s tough exterior has been cracked. His latest mission had him in Mexico, deep inside a Spectra IT sex slavery ring gathering intel. Holding back when he wanted to blow the joint sky-high was bad enough, but turns out someone in the camp was poisoning him, too. The torture of being unable to act, along with the physical toll of his illness, sent him to Hank Smithson’s headquarters to put himself back together. Eli’s sudden departure caused trouble for a Texas PI, Stella Banks, whose movements put her on Spectra’s radar. Now Eli’s back in camp, just as Spectra’s henchmen are debating how best to do away with her. The only way to save her life is to get her to trust that he’s there to help. That means revealing his true identity. And Stella needs to trust him because without him, she has no way of freeing the girls Spectra is holding hostage. Watching Stella sacrifice to take care of the girls gets to Eli in a big way, and soon they find that spending time in each other’s arms is the only way to survive the brutal assignment. But survive they must if they expect to save the innocent young lives in their care. Besides, Eli is not about to let Spectra get away with what they’ve done to him, to the girls, or to the woman who’s salvaged his very broken heart.

Synopsis Charting the Emerging Field of Japanese Diaspora Archaeology by : Douglas E. Ross

This book examines the Japanese diaspora from the historical archaeology perspective—drawing from archaeological data, archival research, and often oral history—and explores current trends in archaeological scholarship while also looking at new methodological and theoretical directions. The chapters include research on pre-War rural labor camps or villages in the US, as well as research on western Canada (British Columbia), Peru, and the Pacific Islands (Hawai‘i and Tinian), incorporating work on understudied urban and cemetery sites. One of the main themes explored in the book is patterns of cultural persistence and change, whether couched in terms of maintenance of tradition, “Americanization,” or the formation of dual identities. Other themes emerging from these chapters include consumption, agency, stylistic analysis, community lifecycles, social networks, diaspora and transnationalism, gender, and sexuality. Also included are discussions of trauma, racialization, displacement, labor, heritage, and community engagement. Some are presented as fully formed interpretive frameworks with substantial supporting data, while others are works in progress or tentative attempts to push the boundaries of our field into innovative new territory. This book is of interest to students and researchers in historical archaeology, anthropology, sociology of migration, diaspora studies and historiography. Synopsis The Beach Alibi by : Alison Kent

Meet the members of the Smithson Group—five alpha males whose best work is done undercover. Unimaginably skilled, they’re the spies you want on your side…of the bed. Kelly John Beach takes the covert nature of his work to heart. He is never seen. He is never heard. Until he is. Somehow, the man who is the ultimate spy was caught on video surveillance inside a Spectra IT office. Now the SG-5 team has to replace the original capture with one proving K.J. was elsewhere at the time. Enter Emma Webster, Hank Smithson’s personal assistant. Posing as Kelly John’s lover, Emma will accompany him to several strategic locations with SG-5 cameras positioned to record their encounters: in elevators and restaurants and strictly off-limits back hallways. Intimate encounters. Erotic encounters. Getting his hands on the very woman who’s starred in his dirtiest fantasies would make this the best assignment ever for K.J. if not for the fact that it puts Emma in the crosshairs of Spectra IT. And when the criminal organization realizes they can get to K.J. through Emma, he’s left to face how far he’ll go to protect the woman he loves.

Synopsis The Samms Agenda by : Alison Kent

Meet the members of the Smithson Group—five alpha males whose best work is done undercover. Unimaginably skilled, they’re the spies you want on your side…of the bed. Julian Samms is all-business and no bull. He expects a lot from the members of his team; keeping things close to the vest and chaos-free is how he saves lives. And that’s why he's none too happy about hitting a snag in his latest mission. Extracting Katrina Flurry, the ex-girlfriend of deposed Spectra IT boss Peter Deacon, from her Miami condo before a hit man finishes her should've been a piece of cake. But now Julian's on the run with a woman who defines high maintenance. The fact that Katrina seems determined to get them killed has Julian ready to call the gig quits. She's infuriating, unpredictable, and unfortunately, sexy as hell. Even worse, she makes him want to break his own rules and enjoy the wild ride, which means they're both in big trouble…of more than one kind.

And that’s where they are when all hell breaks loose. Glory’s history includes some men connected to Spectra IT. They’re convinced she’s hiding vital intel in her place. With the shop under siege, and the customers held at gunpoint, Tripp’s hand is forced. Synopsis Tell It To The Marines by : Amy J. Fetzer

Hot Conflict Rule number one for "How to Throw a Wedding": Don't get kidnapped. Rule number two? Don't let your rescuer be DJ McAllister, as in tall, dark, and secretive with a bod to die for. As in the man who pushed wedding planner Mary Grace Heyward away once and left her heartbroken for, um, well forever. But now that they're running for their lives (so that's what it takes to get a man to commit!), the looks DJ's giving her tell another story, one that's making her very, very warm. And Mary Grace's mission is clear: Indulge the hot Marine's every fantasy and secure a victory of the everlasting kind. . . Hot Landing Zone The mission went bad, really bad. And Jake Mackenzie blames Dr. Katherine Collier, the egghead scientist his team was rescuing from terrorists. If she'd just obeyed his orders they wouldn't be stranded--alone--on a remote island with no way off. But hell, Jake's a Marine. He'll improvise, adapt, and overcome. . .as long as the drop-dead gorgeous Katherine stops accidentally setting off his booby traps, prancing around in what's left of her clothing, and driving him wild with desire. Protecting her is his sworn duty, and the lady seems to have some specific requests in that area. . . Hot Target Rick Cahill's got his orders: Drop into the Amazon and pick up American Peace Corp volunteer Sam Previn. Who knew Sam was actually Samantha, a beautiful redhead with a temper to match? And who knew the Colombian drug cartels would be after them? On the run in the jungle, searching secluded spots for shelter, Rick has to remind himself that Sam is off-limits, no matter how it unhinges him every time her skin brushes his. But when the savvy Sam starts speaking in military abbreviations and can load a sidearm without looking, it's clear she's something special--and just Rick's type. . . The daughter, wife, and now mother of career U.S. Marines, Amy J. Fetzer has penned twenty-eight novels and novellas in historical, historical paranormal, contemporary, and romantic suspense. Amy's work has been nominated twice for Storyteller of the Year in historical and contemporary, Career Achievement, and hit the top spots of the Waldenbooks bestseller lists, as well as winning several genre awards. After twenty-five years of traveling with the Marine Corps, Amy and her family live outside Charleston, South Carolina, enjoying the quiet, retired life, trying to behave like civilians.
