Synopsis Training Programs for Maintenance Organizations by : Terry Wireman
For over three decades, Terry Wireman has specialized in the improvement of maintenance and reliability. As an international expert in maintenance management, he has assisted hundreds of clients in North America, Europe and the Pacific Rim to improve their maintenance effectiveness. Through a new 10-volume Maintenance Strategy series, the author makes his expertise in the field accessible to industrial and facility organizations everywhere. The fifth volume in the series will highlight the need for increased skills proficiency in maintenance and reliability organizations today. It begins with a discussion of the skills shortage, then progresses into how to develop cost-effective and efficient skills training programs. It focuses on modern tools for duty, task, needs analysis and how to convert that data into a complete skills development initiative. The reader will be able to use the information in this to develop or enhance a skills training program in their company.

Synopsis Strategic Maintenance Management Series by :
The Strategic Maintenance Management Series was produced to support Reliabilityweb.com's maintenance management course and the related certification. The Business of Maintenance Management is new and original content for the primary modules of the course. Far too much effort has been spent reacting to failures and maintaining our way to reliability. To truly maintain assets, we need stability. We need to stop creating defects that are unplannable. Business value can only be attained in a stable environment. The Business of Maintenance Management provides the strategies to stabilize organizations and deliver true business value. The Processes of Maintenance Management was condensed and rewritten from the Maintenance Strategy Series by Terry Wireman. Process-dependent organizations are sustainable. People dependency is a risk. The Processes of Maintenance Management starts with the base of preventative maintenance (PM) program development. PM programs are the foundation of maintenance best practices. The next section moves into the actual workflow and processes of maintenance. Both the PM programs and the process are managed with the CMMS, the final section of the book. The Enablers of Maintenance Management was condensed and rewritten from the Maintenance Strategy Series by Terry Wireman. There are various functions that enable maintenance. If they are not implemented and supported, optimized maintenance is unattainable. The most obvious enabler is MRO inventory and purchasing where both stock and critical spares must be optimized. The enabler of sustained quality, training, is covered, along with operator-driven reliability.

Synopsis Strategic Maintenance Management Body of Knowledge by :
The complete Strategic Maintenance Management Body of Knowledge is a six-book set, including Reliabilityweb.com's Strategic Maintenance Management Series. The Business of Maintenance Management: Far too much effort has been spent reacting to failures and maintaining our way to reliability. To truly maintain assets, we need stability. We need to stop creating defects that are unplannable. Business value can only be attained in a stable environment. The Business of Maintenance Management provides the strategies to stabilize organizations and deliver true business value. The Processes of Maintenance Management: Process-dependent organizations are sustainable. The Enablers of Maintenance Management: There are various functions that enable maintenance. If they are not implemented and supported, optimized maintenance is unattainable. The most obvious enabler is MRO inventory and purchasing where both stock and critical spares must be optimized. The enabler of sustained quality, training, is covered, along with operator-driven reliability. The 10 Rights of Asset Management: This book covers all aspects of asset lifecycle management, thus ensuring true asset value attainment over lifecycle. A Practical Guide to Organizational Engineering: This book describes how to define a best-in-class organization and how to develop the necessary skills within your team. Discover how to develop meaningful meetings and KPIs, in support of the business process, and how to use these to engineer an efficient and effective organization that is sustainable and evolves with your needs and level of maturity.Failure Codes to Failure Modes: Without actionable data, there is no way to identify worst offenders in Pareto format. Failure Modes to Failure Codes explains exactly how to start capturing a true failure mode in support of reliability-centered maintenance (RCM). All that's required is the knowledge to configure the CMMS product.

Synopsis Maintenance Organization and Systems by : Anthony Kelly
The profitability of any industry, in any technological sector - power, process, manufacturing, mineral extraction, transport, communication, etc - will be profoundly influenced by the reliability and performance of the plant which it uses. It is therefore vital that all possible measures are taken to maximise the productivity in use, and to minimise the maintenance costs and the downtime, of that plant. This book explains, in a clear and concise manner, the various organization structures that are needed for doing just that, the information systems with which those structures will need to be resourced, and the steps that will have to be taken in order to bring those structures and systems into being. The author, Anthony Kelly, an experienced international consultant and lecturer on this subject, calls his approach BUSINESS-CENTRED MAINTENANCE (BCM) because it springs from, and is driven by, the identification of business objectives, which are then translated into maintenance objectives and which underpin the maintenance strategy formulation. For the first time maintenance management is analysed from the perspective of the whole company and thus makes sense not only technologically but also in economic and business terms. - Complete guide to maintenance from a whole-company perspective - Best-selling and world-renowned author - Complementary to RCM (Moubray) & TPM (Wilmott)

Synopsis Operator-Driven Reliability by : Terry Wireman
In Volume 6, Operator-Driven Reliability, the author sets a goal to provide a framework that can organize the ODR efforts in an organization to support maintenance initiatives and not conflict with them. For this to occur, the maintenance organization must already be in a mature state. If this is not the case, operations will attempt to do too much with ODR and the initiative will bog down, since maintenance will not be able to properly support the maintenance-related activities of the operations group. This book builds on the previous five volumes and many of the strategies discussed in the previous volumes must be in place to provide the foundation necessary to properly involve operation in maintenance-related activities. By learning how to involve operations in maintenance activities, maintenance personnel are freed-up to focus on higher level predictive and reliability activities, thus increasing equipment uptime.
