Synopsis The Lord and The Weedpatcher by : Samuel D. G. Heath Ph. D.

Throughout my life The Lord has been my constant guide and companion; and along the way I have found He has a sense of humor, some of which I disclose in these pages. Another thing; no matter how far I have drifted from the straight and narrow The Lord remained with me along with attending angels and love does indeed cover a multitude of sins. I can only account for my having lived as long as I have on this basis. The reader will understand what I mean once getting into this book. Along my journey with the Lord I discovered many things, one of them being Einstein's famous equation E=MC2 is incomplete because it does not account for life and death, yet these remain the two greatest mysteries they have ever been denying us thus far a "theory of everything." Some years ago I removed from the greater part of society to live in semi-seclusion alone with my books and thoughts in a quiet part of the Sequoia National Forest devoting myself to contemplation, speculating about many things and committing my thoughts in writing fulltime. As a writer and author given to much introspection and fascinated by human behavior, nature, and our universe it was important to me to simplify my life as much as possible as anyone given to philosophical speculation about many things must. That much of my writing covers some metaphysical thoughts about God, angels and demons, an afterlife and Biblical stories of origins, of prophecies of the End Times and so much more have been absorbing studies as well and I freely share my thoughts about these in this volume.

Synopsis Against the Church by : Douglas Wilson

In Against the Church, longtime pastor Douglas Wilson takes a hammer to some of our very favorite graven images, and (surprise, surprise) we've set up display cases for most of them in our churches: Liturgy, Tradition, Systematics, infant Baptism, and that crafty old Baal Doctrine. Alongside a critique of philosophical assumptions about human nature, dualism, and grace, Wilson stresses the unavoidable and absolute necessity of individual hearts being born again. He concludes by laying out the case for the church. This isn't contradictory, though--the only way to be effectually for the church is to master the case against it. After all, God Himself is the ultimate iconoclast.

Synopsis Democratic Communications by : James Frederick Hamilton

This is the first book to take issue with the long-standing assumptions about alternative media and democratic communications and place them in a detailed cultural and historical context. Ranging from prophecy in sixteenth-century England to the self-managed projects of critical literacy and social change of today, it assesses the historical heritage, present conditions, and future possibilities of today's remade media landscape for democratic communications.

Synopsis Norvell’s dynamic Mental Laws for a successful living by : Anthony Norvell

How This Book Will Give You Secrets for Achieving Everything You Want in Life . Throughout the ages there have been illumined souls who possessed extraordinary powers of the mind and spirit. These great teachers possessed universal wisdom which they carefully guarded, revealing it only to the few neophytes who were ready for these great mystical and spiritual revelations. These great souls had discovered the secrets of the universe through contemplation and meditation on the deeper mysteries of life. They advised kings and princes; they safeguarded the arts, music, literature and scientific knowledge all through the dark ages. They gave inspiration and guidance to the few who were ready for their revelations. Civilization advances and man rises to greatness under the impetus of the wisdom and knowledge that he gathers throughout the centuries. Formerly this wisdom was denied to the masses, because they lacked the institutions of learning. Now, in our modern twentieth century, this accumulated wisdom can be revealed in all its radiant splendor. In this study we shall walk together, teacher and student, down the golden path of history, gleaning the priceless secrets of the ages and applying them to your own daily life for achieving the health, wealth, and happiness which is every person's secret dream. Norvell’s Dynamic Mental Laws will reveal the secrets of ancient lands and cultures, India, China and Tibet, all explained in modern language which can be easily understood and applied to your own life. We shall explore the glories of the Golden Age of Greece and learn of the wonders revealed by such great minds as Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, and Epicurus. Many of the profound truths uttered by these mystics and sages apply to modern living, and your life will be greatly enhanced and enriched by gleaning these pearls of wisdom from these great minds. Carved in stone, penned on parchment and papyrus, blocks of wood and marble, these great teachers of the past left their forbidden secrets of the ages to guide the initiates in the Temple of Wisdom. Now we shall study these universal and mental Laws of the past and present and learn how you may apply them to your own everyday life to achieve the fulfillment of all your dreams. In my twenty-five years of lecturing and teaching in world-famous Carnegie Hall in New York City, literally thousands of students have studied these great spiritual and mental truths with me, and now, for the first time, they are being given to the world so that you may study them in the privacy of your own home. You need not be a cloistered mystic in some sacred shrine in India or Tibet to be able to use these forbidden secrets of the ages. You can begin instantly to avail yourself of the benefits of this cosmic and universal knowledge.

Synopsis The Waiting Father by : Helmut Thielicke

The Waiting Father is a collection of sermons by Helmut Thielicke, the great German preacher and theologian, which offer deep insights into the spiritual message of Jesus's fifteen major parables. They were originally preached in Michaelskirche, Hamburg, in the mid-1950s. Thielicke approaches the parables in novel ways. In treating the prodigal son, for instance, he concentrates more on the loving father than the rebellious son, emphasising the centrality of forgiveness. Similarly, when discussing the pharisee and the publican he shows that the publican is guilty of spiritual pride and arrogance, drawing attention to the dangers for the faithful. Both among expositions of the parables and among books for preachers, The Waiting Father stands in a class of its own. Great scholars are usually poor preachers, and great scholars are rarely good preachers, but Thielicke manages to combine distinguished scholarship with fine preaching.

Journey with Carl as he incorporates life experiences with scripture and stories from the Bible to prove that God never gives up on us. Like the Forgiving Father, He is always there to welcome us home.
