The Light Above is a memoir told through the unfolding stories of two proud daughters of New England—Margaret Fuller, American transcendentalist, women’s rights champion, and public intellectual, alive in the first half of the nineteenth century; and Maria Dintino, the author, daughter of a first-generation Italian American and longtime New Hampshirite. A literary enthusiast, Dintino encounters Fuller and discovers that her stories shed light on her own. Fuller becomes Dintino's guide and teacher, and Dintino gradually deepens in understanding and trust of her own life story. A memoir that reveals the impact of shared stories, extending beyond the limits of time and place.

Nobody living in the year 3012 has ever seen the sun, moon or stars, or any light in the sky. The children notice a light, but the adults won't even look until they can refuse to believe no longer.

Simply written, the chakra-inspired poems found in this coloring book are the authors personal interpretation of the seven chakras. EDWARD HITCHCOCK was not the only star in the firmament of American science and philosophy in the nineteenth century, but he was certainly one of the brightest. Raised among the wheat and rye fields of Deerfield, Massachusetts, he was expected to pursue a farmer's life, but early on he developed a "strong relish" for science. In his teens he adopted his father's orthodox Christian faith and began studying for the ministry. By age twenty-five he had set a dual path for his life, science and religion.Although Hitchcock's career as a pastor would be brief, preaching and spreading the Gospel would remain his highest calling. Nevertheless, his scientific impulses could never be denied, his spiritual life could not deflect him from the pursuit of scientific truth. In that respect he was perhaps unique for his time - and for today - for he saw no conflict between science and religion.
