The study investigated 115 stakeholders across 34 manufacturing companies to analyze the impact of ERP System Dimensions towards Supply Chain Management Performance. Integration, Materials Management, Production Planning, Controlling and Workflow Management were taken as the dimensions of ERP System and the study was conducted to analyze the impact of these dimensions of ERP System on the supply chain management performances. The results revealed only one significant findings which indicated the impact of ERP System Dimensions towards Supply Chain Management Performances.

To achieve Supply Chain Management (SCM) success, organisations are increasingly implementing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Embedded within an organisation's SCM, ERP systems further enhance the efficiency of internal supply chain processes such as inventory control, delivery scheduling and transportation planning, thus increasing the supply chain's distribution productivity (Ho, 2007). However, many organisations have viewed their implementation as unsuccessful (Keating et al., 2009; Umble & Umble, 2002). One of the major problems identified is the vast amount of money invested in the ERP system within SCM (Shepherd & Klein, 2006; Carlino & Nelson, 2000). In order to ascertain the value of this crippling investment, the results of ERP require rigorous assessment for their effectiveness within SCM. This thesis addresses this gap by searching current literature for tools that can be used for integration and enhancement to develop an evaluation model that can measure the impact of ERP systems within SCM. The evaluation model is based on the Balance Scorecard (BSC) model and the Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) model, and proposed by two artefacts, a conceptual framework and an evaluation methodology. Finally, these artefacts are evaluated through a qualitative approach. Two selected organisations used the artefacts to validate their applicability and effectiveness. One of the selected organisations was recently ranked 4th among the "World's Best 40 Companies" in BusinessWeek, the U.S. economics magazine, while the other placed 14th in a ranking of "Fortune Global 500 Industries."
