Synopsis The Greatest Invention in the History of Mankind Is Beer by : Dave Barry
The popular humorist discusses the intricacies of being a man, from beauty routines and DIY projects to Star Wars and the Superbowl. Everyone loves Dave Barry. His irreverent bestselling books incite universal laughter. In “The Greatest Invention in the History of Mankind is Beer” and Other Manly Insights from Dave Barry, Dave goes on a testosterone riff, enlightening all about the intricacies of being male. Men everywhere can relate to this book’s hilarious truths, from botched do-it-yourself projects to Super Bowl party etiquette to correctly answering the common female question, “How do I look?” * “Most men think of themselves as average looking. Being average does not bother them; average is fine for men. This is why men never ask anybody how they look. Their primary form of beauty care is to shave themselves, which is essentially the same form of beauty care they give their lawns. If, at the end of his four-minute daily beauty regimen, a man has managed to wipe most of the shaving cream out of his hair and is not bleeding too badly, he feels he has done all he can, so he stops thinking about his appearance and devotes his mind to more critical issues, such as the Super Bowl.” * “If you’re a man, at some point a woman will ask you how she looks. “How do I look?” she’ll ask. You must be careful how you answer this question. The best technique is to form an honest yet sensitive opinion, then collapse on the floor with some kind of fatal seizure. Trust me, this is the easiest way out. Because you will never come up with the right answer.” * “Without question, the greatest invention in the history of mankind is beer. Oh, I grant you that the wheel was also a fine invention, but the wheel does not go nearly as well with pizza.”

Synopsis All Kinds of Humor by : Frank Verano
When you need something funnt for an occasion, how do you go about creating it? Most of us cannot dream up anything funny on our own. Oh sure, there are some who can create funny things spontaneously, but usually it happens in the course of a conversation and even then it is occasionally. At all events where you are called upon to speak, it pays to follow the Toastmasters' International guidelines and prepare for it in advance. When it comes to saying something funny or simply telling a joke to get your audience's attention, it also pays to have a source. In this book, there are over fifty categories of jokes, puns, and other kinds of humor than something you read from cover to cover as in nove. It might even be compared to a recipe book of a "How to" type of book. If you are using this book in a hard copy form, the Contents will help you find the type of joke you need but you might still need to scan a few of them to find the one that suits your occasion. On the other hand, if you are looking at a computer-type of screen, you can quickly go to a joke by clicking on the one-line description in the Contents.

Synopsis The Joke’S on Me by : Jim Purdy
While debating Sir Winston on the House of Commons, Lady Astor says, Sir Winston, if I were your wife, I should poison your tea. Sir Winston replies, Madam, if I were your husband, I would drink it. In 1066, a Battle of Hastings ensued in England, eventually causing two languages to merge and form modern English. In The Jokes on Me, English language aficionado Jim Purdy provides an entertaining tutorial of jokes, explanations, and associated vocabulary based on this historical transition. Purdy bases most of his jokes on sex, politics, and religion, depending on the unexpected as he leads serious students of languages to the other side of English. While including jokes not intended for the easily offended, Purdy relies on the experiences he acquired during his frequent travels throughout Europe as he shares jokes as diverse as the world around us. Purdy spares no one from his humorous jabs, including Lady Astor and Sir Winston, the Lone Ranger, and the Pope. The Jokes on Me is a step-by-step guide that will encourage both novice and experienced students of languages to gain a new appreciation of the American sense of humor while simultaneously enhancing their vocabulary and linguistics abilities.

Synopsis COERCION: THE ACHILLES' HEEL OF EDUCATION by : ROMÉO GAUVREAU, B.A., Ph.D.,?in B.S.
My goal in writing this book is not to try to instruct you or to indoctrinate you. It's rather to present you with a menu of theories, reflections and certain facts concerning civilization and its difficulties in advancing to the next level. That next level, for me, would be to take heed of and to put into practice the 2600 year old Golden rule: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you". It's a rule that everybody understands, but somehow, we have not yet succeeded to apply it at all levels of the world's societies. Family is the institution where we apply it the most; although more in some than in others. The school is an institution where the golden rule is sacrificed in great part due to its coercive approach and its lame pedagogy. The government is the institution where it's the least applied, due to corruption and abuse of power, and the omnipresent coercion towards other countries and towards its own citizen. Is it to say that we're doomed and that there's nothing to be done? I tried ...and hope I succeeded in answering that question in this book.
