This early work by Edith Wharton was originally published in 1932 and we are now republishing it with a brand new introductory biography. 'The Gods Arrive' is a sequel to 'Hudson River Bracketed' in which the characters, Halo and Vance, try to continue their literary relationship. Edith Wharton was born in New York City in 1862. Wharton's first poems were published in Scribner's Magazine. In 1891, the same publication printed the first of her many short stories, titled 'Mrs. Manstey's View'. Synopsis Arrival of the Gods by : Erich von Däniken
Nazca, once only an isolated settlement in the midst of the Peruvian desert, is today the meeting place for archaeologists from around the world. From here you can fly over the celebrated Nazca pampa and appreciate the massive scale of the extraordinary markings on the surrounding landscape. Some of these lines are over twenty kilometers long!Drawing on over thirty years of study, Erich von Daniken examines the various theories that attempt to explain the Nazca phenomena in terms of religious ritual, ancient roads, and astrological symbols. With the help of numerous photographs taken by the author---half-hanging from a small airplane---he describes the many mysteries of Nazca and puts forward a startling revolutionary solution to one of archaeology's greatest enigmas.

Synopsis War of the Gods by : Alan Hotchkiss
Do Gods actually exist? The answer to one of life’s ultimate questions is finally answered. Turns out they do…………………..Just not the kind we were hoping for! When five Gods appear on Earth, they bring with them a reign of destruction that wipes out half the population and most of the Earth’s infrastructure in one single day, and a message for those who remain. Serve your Gods as they demand, or die! From the rubble, a new way of life is born. Strict and harsh in equal measure as the humans are put to work serving their Gods. Money, wealth and greed become things of the past. Five great pyramids are constructed for the Gods, large enough to contain a whole city. One in each of their chosen lands, within the five most populated continents on Earth. Near to each pyramid, another grand building is constructed. Home to the only form of entertainment found on the New Earth, The Colosseums. Centuries since the last gladiators pitted their wits against each other, the blood sport returns in abundance as the Gods train and hone their champions of the arena, then face off against the other Gods in organised wars. Thousands of men and women savagely dying, purely for the entertainment and bragging rights of each God. When a young gladiator named Jacob rises up through the ranks, the humans soon discover he represents their greatest hope of rebelling against the all-powerful Gods. However, when Jacob falls for the charms of the beautiful Goddess Petra, his divided loyalty is called into question in ways he could never have imagined.

Synopsis The Food of the Gods by : H. G. Wells
Published in 1904, this forgotten classic is sci-fi and dystopia at its best, written by the creator and master of the genre Following extensive research in the field of "growth," Mr. Bensington and Professor Redwood light upon a new mysterious element, a food that causes greatly accelerated development. Initially christening their discovery "The Food of the Gods," the two scientists are overwhelmed by the possible ramifications of their creation. Needing room for experiments, Mr. Besington chooses a farm that offers him the chance to test on chickens, which duly grow monstrous, six or seven times their usual size. With the farmer, Mr. Skinner, failing to contain the spread of the Food, chaos soon reigns as reports come in of local encounters with monstrous wasps, earwigs, and rats. The chickens escape, leaving carnage in their wake. The Skinners and Redwoods have both been feeding their children the compound illicitly—their eventual offspring will constitute a new age of giants. Public opinion rapidly turns against the scientists and society rebels against the world's new flora and fauna. Daily life has changed shockingly and now politicians are involved, trying to stamp out the Food of the Gods and the giant race. Comic and at times surprisingly touching and tragic, Wells' story is a cautionary tale warning against the rampant advances of science but also of the dangers of greed, political infighting, and shameless vote-seeking.

Synopsis The Chaos Gods Come to Meatlandia by : Wind Lothamer
If you always wanted to play a Bard but hate that they've been weak for so long, this book is for you. Compatible with all OSR systems, the world of Meatlandia is bloody and horrific and just a little silly. It resembles Stuart Gordon's Reanimator more than H.P. Lovecraft's. Materials include: 1 New City: Meatlandia, which is ruled by the Meat Lord and his juicy meat magic. 5 New Classes: Meet the disgusting Carnomancer, the fourth wall breaking Chaos DJ, the charming Raconteur, the spider-headed Kaldane, and the reality altering Nexus Bard. 42 New Spells: Carnomancers use buckets of blood and metric shittons of meat and as they grow in power they risk transformation into hideous worms themselves. Various rules, nutritional supplements, new monsters, catacombs, maps, and five game seeds to get you started playing right away. The mechanics in this book are unbalanced, ridiculous and overpowered. Enjoy.
