Henry Rowland (d.1690/1691) immigrated from England to Fairfield, Connecticut as early as 1649/1650. Descendants and relatives-- arranged in alphabetical order by surname--lived in New England, New York, New Jersey, Kentucky, Illinois, Kansas, California, Washington and elsewhere.

Francis Joseph Durand (ca. 1740-ca. 1817), a Huguenot, immigrated from France (via the West Indies) to Norwalk, Connecticut between 1756 and 1763. Descendants lived in New England, Ohio, the northern midwest, and elsewhere.

Edward Fitz Randolph (1607-1675/1676) immigrated from England to Scituate, Massachusetts in 1630, and married Elizabeth Blossom in 1637. Descendants lived throughout the United States, and some continued to use the last given name of "Fitz."

John of Gaunt and Katherine Swynford, Chaucer's sister-in-law, fall in love in the 14th century.
