Synopsis The Emotional I Ching by : Chris Lofting
(Hardcover) This book presents the I Ching as an example of a language, a language of the vague, and as such shows the ability of the I Ching to describe itself by reference to itself. This association with language allows for linking yang/yin with fight/flight - the language we call "emotions". Through consideration of current research into emotions, the book brings out the ability to translate the language of primary emotion into the language of yang/yin and so present a more consistent, precise, yang/yin interpretation of any situation given an emotional assessment of that situation. The appendix introduces a more general perspective on meaning derivation given our current knowledge about our neurology and the creation of symbols and metaphors.

Synopsis I Ching Companion by : Jill Richards
Millions of people who cast the I Ching to find answers to their deepest questions refer to the classic Wilhelm-Baynes translation of the ancient Chinese divinatory text, The I Ching or Book of Changes, published by Princeton University Press. The I Ching Companion: An Answer for Every Question is a study guide to be used in conjunction with the Wilhelm-Baynes translation. The I Ching oracle has survived millennia exactly because of its elusive nature. It is replete with phrases and imagery that are unfamiliar to the Western mind. The text in itself tells many stories from ancient China, when the Chou overthrew the Shang dynasty, and contains every aspect of the human experience, both secular and spiritual. Richards has compiled a concordance of the primary symbols in the Wilhelm-Baynes text such as 'to cross the great water', 'furthering', the four directions, colors, 'the great man', 'the inferior man', and the 'superior man' so that students of the I Ching can conduct their own study and gain their own understanding of how the changes described by the I Ching are connected in an eternal cycle of beginning, conflict, and resolution.

Synopsis Symbols of Love by : Stephen Karcher
The Classic of Change (the I Ching, pronounced ee-ching) is the oldest and most respected oracle book or divinatory system in the world. It originated in ancient China approximately 4,000 years ago, and was compiled by shamans and spirit mediums who devised a form of writing in order to record magic phrases. In SYMBOLS OF LOVE, author Stephen Karcher has selected parts of the I Ching hexagrams which specifically apply to relationships, and he provides simple instructions on how to consult this ancient oracle and interpret its answers to learn the ways in which you can most successfully interact with friends, family and partners. By using the book the reader can find out which of the 22 'models of relationship' is at work in their lives at that moment, ask questions of the Relationship Model Oracle and use the answers to help understand what is happening in their interaction with others, avoid painful moments and the more obvious mistakes and recognise when something or someone is truly significant.
