At the time of regeneration, all believers receive the divine life and are begotten as children of God. Yet, this life most grow and it does so by regulation unto maturity and function. This regulation comes from revelation and issues in obedience. This word is crucial for our progress and training in the divine life for our maturity and function in our living and service to God.

“We must realize that we Christians are a meeting people. A Christian is a meeting person. Without meeting, there is no Christian life and no church life. It is rather difficult for any Christian to grow without attending the meetings. There is no way for any Christian to serve God without meetings, and it is impossible for Christians to express Christ if there are no meetings. The church life is a meeting life.” In How to Meet Witness Lee offers much precious and practical guidance related to the biblical way to meet as Christians.

The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1969, volume 2, contains messages given by Brother Witness Lee from April 4 through August 9, 1969. As mentioned in the preface to volume 1, in early April Brother Lee made a brief visit to Waco, Texas, and at the beginning of May he visited San Francisco. At the end of May he traveled to Albuquerque, New Mexico; and then to Erie, Pennsylvania; Toronto, Canada; and Erie, Pennsylvania, a second time. Regrettably, there is no record of Brother Lee's speaking in his first visit to Erie and in his visit to Toronto. He returned to Los Angeles at the beginning of July and remained there until the end of August. The contents of this volume are divided into nine sections, as follows: 1. Six messages given in Waco, Texas, on April 4 through 6. These messages are included in this section under the title Experiencing and Enjoying the All-inclusive, Compound Spirit for the Building Up of the Church as God's Dwelling Place. The recording of one of the six messages appears to have been lost. 2. Seven messages given in San Francisco, California, on May 2 through 4. They are included in this volume under the title Praising God with Christ as the Content by Our Experiencing and Enjoying Him. 3. Nine messages given in Albuquerque, New Mexico, from May 31 through June 5. These messages are included in this volume under the title Practicing the Church Life by Exercising the Spirit. 4. Two messages given in Erie, Pennsylvania, on June 28. These messages were given near the end of a longer conference that began on June 19. Regrettably, there is no record of Brother Lee's speaking from June 19 through 27. The two recorded messages are included in this section under the title TheRecovery of the Local Churches with the Sevenfold Spirit. 5. Ten messages given in Los Angeles, California, on July 4 through 13. They were originally published in The Stream, volume 7, number 4, November 1, 1969; and volume 8, number 1, February 1, 1970; and number 2, May 1, 1970, under the title The Seven Spirits for the Local Churches. 6. Eight messages given in Los Angeles, California, on July 4 through 12, 1969. They were originally published in The Stream, volume 8, number 2, May 1, 1970; number 3, August 1, 1970; and number 4, November 1, 1970, under the title The Recovery of God's House and God's City. 7. Eighteen messages given in Los Angeles, California, from July 16 through August 15, 1969. They were previously published in a sixteen-chapter book under the title The Crucial Revelation of Life in the Scriptures. 8. Five messages given in Los Angeles, California, from July 17 through August 14. These messages are included in this volume under the title Further Speaking on the Crucial Revelation of Life in the Scriptures. Two of the five spoken messages were combined. 9. One message given in Los Angeles, California, on August 9. This message is published in this volume under the title The Structure of the Book of Psalms.

"The entire Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, shows us that God is our enjoyment. God also has His fullness (Eph. 3:19b). He is full for us to enjoy. His fullness is the expression of the riches of Christ, and the reality of Christ is in the Spirit. We know this by the revelation of the Word. The riches of Christ are revealed in the Word. Furthermore, we can realize God as our enjoyment in our spirit (John 4:24)."

When God created man, He placed him before two trees: the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and the tree of life. In warning man to avoid the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, God indicated His desire for man to eat of the tree of life, signifying that man should receive God as his life supply. Witness Lee unveils in The Tree of Life that God is not looking for well-behaved Christians; He is looking for those who will experience and enjoy Christ as the reality of the tree of life.

The Collected Works of Witness Lee, Letters and Gleanings, volume 2, contains miscellaneous messages given by Brother Witness Lee in 1965 through 1971. The contents of this volume are divided into thirteen sections, as follows: 1. Eight messages given in Taiwan in 1965. These messages are included in this volume under the title Miscellaneous Gleanings, 1966. 5. Four messages given in Taiwan on October 5 through 15, 1966. These messages are included in this volume under the title Taking the Way of the Lord's Recovery. 6. Fifteen messages given in Taiwan in 1967. These messages are included in this volume under the title Miscellaneous Gleanings, 1967. 7. Eight messages given in 1968. Message 1 was given in Taichung, Taiwan. The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1981, volume 2, contains messages given by Brother Witness Lee on November 2 through December 11, 1981. From December 23, 1981, through January 2, 1982, Brother Lee spoke twenty-eight messages that were published in Life-study of 1 Corinthians. The Life-study messages are not included in The Collected Works of Witness Lee. From the last week in October until the end of November, 1981, Brother Lee traveled to Seoul, South Korea; Hong Kong; Taipei, Taiwan; and Tokyo, Japan. He returned to Anaheim and ministered there until the end of the year. The contents of this volume are divided into two sections, as follows: 1. Twenty-eight messages given in Hong Kong and in Taipei, Taiwan, on November 2 through 24. These messages were translated from Chinese and are included in this volume under the title The History and Revelation of the Lord's Recovery. 2. A message given in Anaheim, California, on December 11. This message is included in this volume under the title The Center of Paul's Completing Ministry.
