Synopsis The Case for the UFO by : Morris K. Jessup

This is the original edition of the classic book that brought the legend of the Philadelphia Experiment into the public sphere, and created saucer controversy for decades: "The Case For the UFO!" Why has this book been suppressed for so many years? It is a well-reasoned review of the UFO record by an eminent astromomer, mathematician, and archaeologist: Dr. M.K. Jessup. His conclusions are breathtaking and incredible, but inescapable. This special reprint edition features not only the familiar introduction by Frank Edwards, but also the "lost" introduction by noted zoologist Ivan T. Sanderson.Description from the dust jacket:Flying saucers are not new! For thousands of years, men have seen mysterious objects in the skies. Now, a prominent scientists proves that unidentified flying objects originate here, on Earth. If you have ever wondered about the things today's scientists do not, will not, or cannot explain, this book is for you. Such questions might be:What is the hidden meaning of the comet's tail? What caused the "Devil's Footprints" of Devonshire? Why are we wrong to think of space flight only in terms of rocket power? How was a soldier "teleported" from the Phillippine Islands to Mexico City within one hour? What force lifted 1200-ton stones in ancient Peru? How is acceleration achieved by UFOs?What caused the disappearance of the crews of the SS Sea Bird and the Marie Celeste? Was the "secret" of space flight known 50,000 years ago? What is the strange truth hidden in the ancient ruins of Baalbek? And finally, and most importantly: Are the UFOs friend, or foe? This original edition of "The Case For the UFO" does NOT include the scrawled "annotations" of the infamous Carlos Allende (who may or may not have tormented Jessup into committing suicide). You will find this version much easier to read than the Varo Edition, and probably much more meaningful.

The Report on Unidentified Flying Objects is a book by Edward J. Ruppelt which described the study of UFOs by United States Air Force from 1947 to 1955. Ruppelt was a United States Air Force officer best known for his involvement in Project Blue Book, a formal governmental study of unidentified flying objects. Synopsis The Case for the UFO - Varo Edition by : M. Jessup

The INFAMOUS Annotated Version of The Case for UFOs by Morris Jessup. In 1957, Morris Jessup was approached by two mysterious Naval officers who informed Jessup that a man, who called himself Carlos Allende, had extensively annotated Jessup's seminal book "The Case for the UFO" with a bizarre commentary involving time travel, electromagnetic forces, even the teleportation of a battleship. The story, already a little strange, was made even more peculiar when he discovered that the Office of Naval Research took things much mucher further, even going the trouble of re-printing this annotated version for limited distribution within the Office of Naval Research. They even used multi-colored inks to simulate the pens used in the handwritten notes. This book - printed by the Varo Manufacturing Company of Garland, Texas - is now known as the infamous Varo Edition.

Synopsis UFOs by : Leslie Kean

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • Impeccably researched, this riveting journalistic investigation separates fact from fiction, and documents the unexplained mysteries of—and government reactions to—actual UFOs. “A treasure trove of insightful and eye-opening information.”—Michio Kaku, PH.D., bestselling author of Physics of the Future Leslie Kean, a veteran investigative reporter who has spent the past ten years studying the still-unexplained UFO phenomenon, reviewed hundreds of government documents, aviation reports, radar data, and case studies with corroborating physical evidence. She interviewed dozens of high-level officials and aviation witnesses from around the world. Among them, five Air Force generals and a host of high-level sources—including Fife Symington III, former governor of Arizona, and Nick Pope, former head of the British Defence Ministry’s UFO Investigative Unit—have written their own breathtaking, firsthand accounts about UFO encounters and investigations exclusively for this book. With the support of former White House chief of staff John Podesta, Kean lifts the veil on decades of U.S. government misinformation about this mysterious phenomenon and presents irrefutable evidence that unknown flying objects—metallic, luminous, and seemingly able to maneuver in ways that defy the laws of physics—actually exist. With a Foreword by John Podesta “The most important book on the phenomenon in a generation.”—Journal of Scientific Exploration “Written with penetrating depth and insight, the revelations in this book constitute a watershed event in lifting the taboo against rational discourse about this controversial subject.”—Harold E. Puthoff, PH.D., Director of the Institute for Advanced Studies at Austin “Kean presents the most accurate, most credible reports on UFOs you will ever find. She may not have the final smoking gun, but I smell the gunpowder.”—Miles O’Brien, science correspondent for PBS’s NewsHour

Synopsis Unconventional Flying Objects by : Hill, Paul R.

Paul Hill was a well-respected NASA scientist when, in the early 1950s, he had a UFO sighting. Soon after, he built the first flying platform and was able to duplicate the UFO's tilt-to-control maneuvers. Official policy, however, prevented him from proclaiming his findings. "I was destined," says Hill, "to be as unidentified as the flying objects." For the next twenty-five years, Hill acted as an unofficial clearinghouse at NASA, collecting and analyzing sightings' reports for physical properties, propulsion possibilities, dynamics, etc. To refute claims that UFOs defy the laws of physics, he had to make "technological sense... of the unconventional object." After his retirement from NASA, Hill finally completed his remarkable analysis. This book, published posthumously, presents his findings that UFOs "obey, not defy, the laws of physics." Vindicating his own sighting and thousands of others, he proves that UFO technology is not only explainable, but attainable.

Synopsis The Expanding Case for the UFO. by : Morris K. Jessup

"From the craters of the moon, the jungle-ridden cities of prehistory, the world's scattered Pygmy tribes, and the columns of yesterday's newspaper comes new and thought-provoking evidence for the existence of space life." Such were the words on the original dust jacket of this, the first edition of "The Expanding Case For the UFO." First released in 1957, "The Expanding Case" was the sequel to perhaps the most notorious book in the history of ufology: "The Case For the UFO," which drew the interest of the U.S. Navy and resulted in the infamously annotated "Varo Edition."The annotator of the book, Carlos Allende, claimed to have been a witness to the Philadelphia Experiment. Allende seemed to think that the book's author, astronomer M.K. Jessup, knew more about the experiment than he was admitting, and had maybe played a role in it."The Expanding Case For the UFO" was the last book ever written by M.K. Jessup, and it ties together many of the controversial threads first exposed in "The Case for the UFO." This special reprint features the original "lost" introduction by noted zoologist Ivan T. Sanderson. As evidence to how dangerous this material was at the time, it was only two years later that Jessup - after experiencing threatening phone calls and alarming synchronicities "too unbelievable to describe" - would be found dead in a park in Dade County, Florida - supposedly a "suicide."While Allende claimed Jessup killed the hitman sent to terminate him, and was able to escape by trading identities with the hitman, the facts remain obscured - like the UFOs themselves - in a most intriguing fog.

Synopsis The Report on Unidentified Flying Objects by : Edward J Ruppelt

Project Blue Book was a U.S. government investigation of Unidentified Flying Objects - UFOs. One of the men working on the project was decorated U.S. Air Force officer Edward Ruppelt, and this book contains the findings. The ideas surrounding UFOs were stoked by popular imagination; flying saucers, alien visitation or even abduction, and strange phenomena such as lights or aircraft moving rapidly in the sky. Following World War II, the idea that aliens were regularly appearing in spacecraft, coupled with abundant reports of unexplained objects in the sky, prompted a series of investigations by governments. Project Blue Book was among the most notable, led by Josef Allen Hynek and staffed by officers such as Edward Ruppelt - both of whom were open-minded when identifying these unusual phenomena. Ruppelt's explanations are thorough, explaining what he and his team uncovered in detail over the course of 1952-1954. Finding nothing conclusive in support of UFOs as alien spacecraft, he quotes fellow officer Andy Flues: "Even taking into consideration the highly qualified backgrounds of some of the people who made sightings, there was not one single case which, upon the closest analysis, could not be logically explained in terms of some common object or phenomenon."
