"The Bradys After a Chinese Princess..." is a detective mystery novel. At the docks of San Francisco Bay area, a group of detectives lie in wait for Chinese smugglers they believe to be bringing in opium into the country. Among the detectives are the Brady Brothers, one of whom is the fiancé to Alice, their translator. When some Chinese men enter carrying a mysterious box, Alice overhears them talk about a Chinese princess in the box. But due to the ensuing gunfight and a heavy fog, the group are soon dispersed. And afterwards, there is no sign of either Alice or the mysterious box and the detectives set out to unravel the mystery and locate their missing partner...
