A quoem is comprised of two quotes that rhyme and is titled with two words that coincide with each quote. Haze is a set of more than 150+ quoems presenting the author’s self-expression and experience which are scribbled in a routine leisurely fashion, perceiving the illusionary reality of life in between ether and sky, embedded with the glitters of Cosmos. The subconscious mind of a human brain is filled with the imprints of ambiguous societal setups. The author through simple diction relates the life of homo sapiens in a society who are entangled with an irrational lifestyle believing it to be a rational comfortable style throwing themselves and all others into a meaningless confusing factor. It is observed to be curbing and nipping the grooming nurtures of every individual before they bud and spread their essence into their desired directions. Most of the stereotypes in a society lead to discrimination by categorizing every bit on the planet into an open vague of sin and sane with the insane delicacies in the neighborhood. Most of these lifestyles are dealt with within the quotes by no emphasis on generalization, personalization or simplification. Haze has emerged through that blurred visionary aspect which the author brings out into the form of a book by a few well-wishing reviewers’ suggestions. Haze is a phase of life’s face.

Divided in two parts, Zephyr talks about our demons pulling us down and then rising from the ruins, carrying our scars on skin like a prize. The 2 writers bound their words in poetry for the broken and anguished; for the healing and for the ones growing.

This book is a glimpse into my on-going flirtation with Dame Literature … and the rare occasion when … she winked back. Regarding the poems, some of them arose in response to the morning wishes received as “forwards” via WhatsApp by people who could be considered as the modern roosters – summoning the sun over the horizon every day; others arose out of a deeply emotional response to situations like the present on-going pandemic. And then there are others. The short-stories are based on happenings as I grew more and more aware of the world around me, and as I wandered through swamps of dog-eared files, never ceasing to wonder at the infinite variety of human feelings, deviousness – and resilience. Altogether, they reflect an attitude towards life: some guiding philosophy, some amount of humour, and … love.
