There are also records, which are referred to in Palmer's Perlustrations of Great Yarmouth, of the very early use of the building as a gaol by the burgesses. He was a mariner, and lived in Beverly. He mar ried Elizabeth Ober (published Oct. 5, He died in 1723, administration being granted on his estate March 16, 1723.
