Edward Haws (ca. 1623-1686) immigrated during or before 1648 from England to Dedham, Massachusetts, and married Eliony Lumber or Lombard. They possibly moved to Wrentham, Suffolk County, Massachusetts (since that is where he died). Elijah Haws (1804-1890), a direct descendant in the sixth generation, was born in Schoharie (now Cassinova) County, New York. He married Catherine Floyd (Pease) Quimby in 1829 and they later became Mormon converts. They moved (via Nauvoo, Illinois) to Payson, Utah in 1853. Descendants and relatives lived in New England, New York, Illinois, Utah, Arizona and elsewhere. Includes some ancestors in New York and New England. Includes many ancestors on various lines in England to 1066 A.D.

Edward Hawes (ca. 1616-1687) was living at Dedham, Massachusetts, by 1648, where he married Eliony Lumber (ca. 1625-1688/9) that year. They had nine children, 1648/9-1666, all born at Dedham. Descendants lived lived in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, Maine, Vermont, Connecticut, New Hampshire, and elsewhere. Descendants also spell their surname Haws.

William Head died by 1698 in Calvert Co., Maryland.
