Synopsis Tep Vol 20-N3 by : Teacher Education and Practice

Teacher Education and Practice, a peer-refereed journal, is dedicated to the encouragement and the dissemination of research and scholarship related to professional education. The journal is concerned, in the broadest sense, with teacher preparation, practice and policy issues related to the teaching profession, as well as being concerned with learning in the school setting. The journal also serves as a forum for the exchange of diverse ideas and points of view within these purposes. As a forum, the journal offers a public space in which to critically examine current discourse and practice as well as engage in generative dialogue. Alternative forms of inquiry and representation are invited, and authors from a variety of backgrounds and diverse perspectives are encouraged to contribute. Teacher Education & Practice is published by Rowman & Littlefield.

Synopsis Scattering of Thermal Neutrons by : Andre Larose

Solid state physicists have long appreciated the usefulness of thermal neutron scattering in the inves tigation of condensed matter. This technique was first made possible by the advent of the nuclear reac tor and has, since then, undergone many refinements. The developments in this field of research have, we felt, necessitated the making of a comprehensive compilation of the published thermal neutron papers. The large number of titles collected in this book, as well as their diversity and their yearly distribution, reflects the continued contribution of the neutron probe to our understanding of physical systems. This bibliography is an updated and improved version of the one first published by us in March of 1973 under a similar title. Many of the omissions and inconsistencies of the first edition, such as occurred, for example, in the initialing of authors' names, have been corrected. The literature search has been carried back to 1932, the year when the existence of the neutron was experimentally confirmed. Several additional journals have also been searched and brought up to date together with those listed in our first publication. The number of entries is now 8543, an increase of 65 per cent relative to the first edition.

Synopsis Organic Reactions, Volume 95 by :

The 95th volume in this series for organic chemists in industry presents critical discussions of widely used organic reactions or particular phases of a reaction. The material is treated from a preparative viewpoint, with emphasis on limitations, interfering influences, effects of structure and the selection of experimental techniques. The work includes tables that contain all possible examples of the reaction under consideration. Detailed procedures illustrate the significant modifications of each method.

Synopsis Organic Reactions, Volume 85 by :

Volume 85 represents the ninth single chapter volume to be produced in Organic Reactions' 72-year history. The original authors, Drs. Shaughnessy and DeVasher, have compiled an enormous (and growing) literature and distilled it into an extraordinarily useful treatise on all aspects of the copper-catalyzed amination process. Given the myriad types of nitrogen-based nucleophiles and various ligand sets and reaction conditions, the authors have done an outstanding job of identifying the best options for various permutations of donor and acceptor. This comprehensive treatment of so many different options constitutes a dream "field guide" for the perplexed chemist who wants to know how best to approach the formation of a C-N bond in a target structure and whether copper or palladium catalysis is recommended.

Synopsis Inorganic Syntheses, Volume 22 by :

The volumes in this continuing series provide a compilation of current techniques and ideas in inorganic synthetic chemistry. Includes inorganic polymer syntheses and preparation of important inorganic solids, syntheses used in the development of pharmacologically active inorganic compounds, small-molecule coordination complexes, and related compounds. Also contains valuable information on transition organometallic compounds including species with metal-metal cluster molecules. All syntheses presented here have been tested.
