Synopsis Tableaux de Conjugaison (Conjugation Tables) by : Rene Ezinn Awa

Tableaux de conjugaison (Temps, voix et modes des verbes franais) or Conjugation tables (tenses, voices and moods of the French verbs) is a book which seeks to simplify French verb conjugation especially for the Anglophone learners and students. French language verb conjugation is what some people consider as too "technical" to handle. As a result writing a French textbook to explain this "too technical" issue is a welcome decision and practice both to me as a lecturer and to students. Most of the time, the latter tend to compare the French verb style with that of the English and they conclude that French verbs are more difficult to conjugate. Consequently, some of them ask questions as to the easiest way to go about learning and mastering the verbs. In answer to their questions, I decided to write this book which someone described as "a nice little piece of work which carries a lot of weight". I wrote the 1st edition in 2010 and it was so good, that is it met the needs of students at that point in time. However, I came to realize that some topics were missing in the book and this I found out based on the questions that students ask on a daily basis. Allied to the above, I came up with this revised and updated edition. I have reworked the 1st edition and included a lot of important topics which will help learners in mastering the French verbs: vis--vis: conjugation in all the tenses, ability to differentiate the moods of the French verbs, having an in-depth knowledge of voices - active and passive, a mastery of the direct and indirect object complements - by this, learners will be able to know the verbs which are direct and indirect complements during the study of pronoun complement.Furthermore, I have included some sentences with some of the verbs treated herein. To cap it all, this book also comes in a an audio-visual format to help the learner in pronunciation. Nevertheless, I must add that the audio-visual does not contain all that we have in the book.In this book, you will learn how to conjugate all the French verbs, in all the moods and tenses; including:1. The Indicative mood (the present tense, the "pass compos", the imperfect, the future tense, etc)2. The Subjunctive mood3. The Imperative/command4. The Conditional, etcFurthermore, all is well explained in English Language.I sincerely hope that this whole package would satisfy your need as a leaner, more so as an Anglophone learner. In case you should have questions or criticisms, please, write me on [email protected] or [email protected].

Synopsis French Verbs Simplified, Vol. 1 of 2 by : Hugo's Language Institute

Excerpt from French Verbs Simplified, Vol. 1 of 2: Rules for the Formation of Tenses, and Complete Tables for Reference, Showing at a Glance the Conjugation of Every Verb, Regular or Irregular This work forms one of "Hugo's Simplified Series." the chief object of which is to save the Student's time by giving no Rules but those actually necessary. In this case, however, as with "French Genders Simplified," the greater part of the book is for Reference only. The tables appended, which may be taken out and mounted, will be found specially convenient for reference, as they show at a glance every Number, Person, Mood, and Tense of every Verb, Regular or Irregular. Students should first learn the regular terminations (see page 6), referring to the Rules on the Formation of Tenses opposite. This is quickly done by taking one Tense at a time, the best order to follow being Present, Perfect, Future, Imperfect, Conditional, etc., as laid down in Hugo's "French Grammar Simplified." When the Regular Verbs have been thoroughly mastered, the Irregular Verbs present no difficulty. All that need be learnt is the irregularities of important Verbs, which are indicated by thick type. No English for the Subjunctive Mood should be learned. The translation usually given, - "that I may speak," or "might speak," is most misleading, and often absolutely wrong. The only safe way is to learn when to employ this Mood. We omit que before the French Subjunctive, as it is no part of this Mood, and neither always precedes it nor always governs it. It is advisable, however, to insert it in replies to examination questions. Fuller conjugations of the Compound Tenses, and of the Negative and Interrogative Forms, are omitted, as they require no learning whatever. The mere sight of these as given in most Grammars appals and disheartens the Student; and the formation is precisely the same throughout every Verb in the language. For the same reason, we give no list of the Verbs requiring "de" before a following Infinitive. There is no occasion to learn these Verbs, if it is borne in mind that all Verbs require "de" unless given in our Lists of those requiring "a," or no Preposition. We believe that this work will be found a great help to the beginner who has not yet mastered the Verbs, and an invaluable book of reference for the advanced Student. Synopsis The French Verb Chart by : Daniel R. Weidman

The French Verb Chart Workbook 1 is designed for beginning to intermediate students and contains 68 essential verb charts. Mastering the art of conjugating the French verb requires learning an enormous amount of information - regular and irregular verbs, infinitives, personal pronouns, moods, simple and compound tenses, stems endings, auxiliary verbs, past participles - for all 14 tenses. In order to learn all that without becoming overwhelmed, confused and discouraged, it is absolutely essential to have a system! The French Verb Chart is the only systematic, hands-on, organizational working tool that offers students of French of all ages and levels the opportunity to master the art of conjugating the French verb by creating their own reference sheets of verb conjugations as they work their way through the process one infinitive, one personal pronoun, one corresponding verb form, and one tense at a time. The French Verb Chart is a working tool because students will write and record verb conjugations on it, view and review it over and over again until committed to memory. The act of writing as well as the structure and methodology of the chart assist the student in committing the conjugation to memory and in visualizing each verb's conjugation. The Chart also helps to keep all the written conjugation information learned in one, easy-to-find place. As the student progresses and learns new tenses, the conjugations of previously learned tenses can be easily reviewed because they are right there on the one Chart. The intent of the French Verb Chart is to use the same verb chart for each verb from beginning to intermediate to advanced level of study - the Chart becomes more complete as the student learns more tenses over time. The format is systematic, consistent and easy to understand and will never be outdated. Using The French Verb Chart, my students have enjoyed a sense of accomplishment, completion and satisfaction knowing that they have mastered the art of conjugating the French verb - and yours will too!
