Unlicensed P.I. Billie Levine is trying to bank some extra cash, so she picks up hours working as a process server for another investigative firm. Compared to Billie, the dead man has it easy. Billie is feeling on edge lately. Maybe it’s because her father is insisting his estranged kids come to his wedding in Sedona, or that David is making plans to move out, or that a smug teaching assistant is getting underfoot on her latest case. Although, it’s possible she could use the help when the cops zero in on Billie’s boyfriend, Aaron, and his connections to an international art ring. Turns out, Aaron’s stint in Israel has left him with more than just a thick scar across his neck. The woman he screwed over wants revenge, and she’s determined to leverage Billie’s murder case to get it. With the detectives focused on Aaron, Billie sets her sights on stopping a killer who is tying up loose ends — Billie being one of them.

Synopsis Consumer Tribes by : Avi Shankar

Marketing and consumer research has traditionally conceptualized consumers as individuals- who exercise choice in the marketplace as individuals not as a class or a group. However an important new perspective is now emerging that rejects the individualistic view and focuses on the reality that human life is essentially social, and that who we are is an inherently social phenomenon. It is the tribus, the many little groups we belong to, that are fundamental to our experience of life. Tribal Marketing shows that it is not individual consumption of products that defines our lives but rather that this activity actually facilitates meaningful social relationships. The social ‘links’ (social relationships) are more important than the things (brands etc.) The aim of this book is therefore to offer a systematic overview of the area that has been defined as “cultures of consumption”- consumption microcultures, brand cultures, brand tribes, and brand communities. It is though these that students of marketing and marketing practitioners can begin to genuinely understand the real drivers of consumer behaviour. It will be essential to everyone who needs to understand the new paradigm in consumer research, brand management and communications management.

Synopsis The Day the Dancers Stayed by : Theodore S. Gonzalves

Pilipino Cultural Nights at American campuses have been a rite of passage for youth culture and a source of local community pride since the 1980s. Through performances—and parodies of them—these celebrations of national identity through music, dance, and theatrical narratives reemphasize what it means to be Filipino American. In The Day the Dancers Stayed, scholar and performer Theodore Gonzalves uses interviews and participant observer techniques to consider the relationship between the invention of performance repertoire and the development of diasporic identification. Gonzalves traces a genealogy of performance repertoire from the 1930s to the present. Culture nights serve several functions: as exercises in nostalgia, celebrations of rigid community entertainment, and occasionally forums for political intervention. Taking up more recent parodies of Pilipino Cultural Nights, Gonzalves discusses how the rebellious spirit that enlivened the original seditious performances has been stifled.

Synopsis All of a Sudden by : Kesha Robinson

All of a Sudden follows Kesha as she struggles to recover from a devastating car wreck and forge a productive, happy life for herself. From the Book Life is a word can't none of us explain, for we all have a different one, different experiences we may see or face where trials and tribulations come our way. there's no place to run, no place to hide. I found that out at such a young age after my journey began for it is not over despite what I see, despite what I feel. For when a person asks me how I am, I tell them that I am blessed! A lot of times a person may ask another how they are, knowing they really don't care, and if they do there's not much that will be done, which can leave a person feeling even worse, wishing they had never revealed the truth. god, my god has given me something that I can say that no matter who you are, what position or status you claim or may have at this present moment that can be taken from you. to say I'm blessed is indeed an honor, but the Journey has not been easy. After those words are said, I explain to a person why I feel those words I better say every time. If I can sleep two-and-a-half to three months, wake up when doctors say I'm not, walk and talk when they say I never will, telling my family that because of this they might as well put me in a nursing home. then ten and a half years later get hit by an suV, flip over the hood, landing in the other lane and not lose consciousness. I better say I'm blessed every time for the simple fact I am able to talk about it.
