The Star Child, a tiny flame of vapor, invisible and timeless, watches the Earth from far, far away. He marvels at the blue swirls of the ocean and the green land, a bright spot turning through the darkness of space. He wants to go to this wondrous place, but he ponders: What will that life be like? "You will be plunged into Earth's river of time," his elders tell the Star Child. "There will be so much for you to learn and so much for you to feel—pleasure and fear, joy and disappointment, sadness and wonder." Through spare, artful text and intricate illustrations, Claire A. Nivola celebrates the cycle of life. A Frances Foster Book

Synopsis Starchild by : Jim G Styles
It's now the year of our Lord, 2915. Human civilization having attained near perfection... and Womankind's very first starship, the S.E.A.S.S. StarChild, is about to disembark on its bachelor voyage to the stars. There it will encounter absolute Hell. A Hell that changed Human herstory for the very worst nearly 7,000 years before-threatening to do that very same thing YET AGAIN!!! Yet even so "StarChild" is more than just science fiction, just as much an adventure romance novel set in the future, a strong element of mystery added. Mostly a love story in the truest sense, the main focus of "StarChild" is on people and the Human element versus mere gadgetry and futuristic jargon. And with its powerful depiction of a better society "StarChild" could even be looked upon as a mistress blueprint for a much better society than that we know today, hope for a brighter future known as the "New Matriarchate"-the Tammyite Matriarchy. Depicted in a more intelligent, realistic, sophisticated, and sensitive manner than normally experienced in works of fiction involving matriarchal civilizations it is a time in which "history" has been replaced by "herstory," delving as well into our past as well as the future.

Synopsis Slices of a Starchild's Life by : SR Brown
The inspiration for the urban fantasy series, Starchild’s Fire, we can find many of the characters featured in these works exploring this town and universe in the novels. Volume one of the slice of life series, this is a story collection about the neighborhood shapeshifter, Val, and their adventures in a totally normal, in no way strange, town. A place full of smiling faces, gray skies, and an elder god slumbering in the candy shop. What many would just call a typical dot on the map, if it could have anyone survive the trip to the cartographer to have one made. While strangers are as rare as a sunny day, both are always welcome. The oldest and friendliest citizen, Val hardly stands out from the humans here despite being born of a dying star. Such events leading to their creation giving them the title of starchild, and the ability to be whatever they can imagine; their presence found to be calming by most that they interact with. Usually with two eyes, one nose, and smiling lips, they often wander the town going from odd job to odd job, or trying to spot a new adventure with some mortal, or monster they meet in the forest or ocean surrounding the township. With the water swarming with monsters from the depths of nightmares and the trees teeming with creatures hungering for human flesh, they are sure to find company with the humans that hide from, and with, the immortal beasts that surround their home. They may be eternal, but there is no time to be lonely for this starchild, plenty to do while enjoying all that comes with living in a small town. What else is there to be done when all towns are like this; right?

Synopsis The Starchild Skull -- Genetic Enigma Or Human-Alien Hybrid? by : Lloyd Pye
"In the 1930s a girl in Mexico found two skulls and brought them to the U.S. One was a normal human, the other was something else. Since 1999, Lloyd Pye has coordinated the extensive scientific testing of both skulls. The Starchild Skull is a charmingly wry, addictively readable book chronicling Pye’s odyssey with the skulls."--From the publisher.

Synopsis Starchild by : Michaela Foster Marsh
Michaela Foster Marsh and her brother Frankie grew up as "twins" in Glasgow, Scotland in the sixties. Born only weeks apart, Michaela was white and Frankie was black, and they were an unusual sight in their dual pram. Despite the doting of his parents and the unceasing love of his sister, Frankie's life was rarely easy, and it ended far too soon when a fire took him when he was only twenty-six. But for a devastated Michaela, Frankie's effect on her life was only beginning. She embarks on a search to learn what she can about Frankie's birth family, a journey that takes her to Uganda, to a culture and a family she never knew, through twists and turns and remarkable coincidences - and to a mission and to a connection with her African brethren she never could have imagined. STARCHILD is a remarkably candid memoir that plays out on both a personal and global scale. It is the story of the intimacies of siblinghood and the complexities of multi-racial adoption. It is the story of the unique connection of extended family and the unique commitment to an adopted homeland. It is the story of long-held secrets revealed and long-maintained barriers broken. And it is ultimately the story of a sibling relationship that transcends borders, time, and life itself.
