Synopsis A Cruel and Fated Light by : Ashley Shuttleworth

Half-fae Arlo becomes entangled in the courtly intrigue at the Seelie Summer palace as danger for ironborns mounts in this “beautifully written and deliciously complex” (Nicki Pau Preto, author of the Crown of Feathers trilogy) sequel to A Dark and Hollow Star that’s The Cruel Prince meets City of Bones. After thwarting the man behind the gruesome ironborn murders—and breaking several fae laws to do so—all Arlo wants is a quiet summer. As the deity of luck’s Hollow Star, capable of bringing about endless possibilities, this shouldn’t be too much to ask, right? But someone is still trying to summon the mythical Seven Deadly Sins. All signs point to immortal meddling, and if this is the gods’ attempt at returning to the Mortal Realm, it’s Arlo they’re going to use to do it. When Queen Riadne offers to host Arlo at the Seelie Summer palace, she jumps at the chance. She’ll get to see more of Vehan and Aurelian and perhaps even work out her complicated feelings for the gorgeous ex-Fury, Nausicaä. But no one trusts the infamous Queen of Light, even as Arlo wonders if she’s just been greatly misunderstood. With the Summer Solstice quickly approaching, everyone expects Riadne to finally challenge the High King for his crown. And as Arlo struggles to get control of her powers and take charge of her destiny, she’ll soon be faced with a choice that won’t only change the fate of the Mortal Realm forever but could condemn it to a cruelty the likes of which the Courts have never known.

Synopsis Starlight Web by : Yasmine Galenorn

Moonshadow Bay…where magic lurks in the moonlight, and danger hides in the shadows. One month before January Jaxson turns 41, her husband ditches her for a trophy wife. Adding insult to injury, he steals the business she helped build, and kicks her out during the holidays. So when her best friend Ari suggests she move back to Moonshadow Bay—a quirky, magical town near Bellingham WA—January decides to take the plunge. Born into a family of witches, January accepts a job at Conjure Ink, a paranormal investigations website. The job’s right up her alley but she doubts that everything reported to Conjure Ink really exists. That is, until she’s sent out on her first case. An abandoned asylum once housed a murderer, who killed an entire family one Yuletide Eve. It’s rumored that every December he returns to haunt the woodland around the asylum, seeking to add new members to his supernatural family. January’s sure it’s an urban legend, but when new victims show up with no logical explanation for their deaths, Conjure Ink sends her in to investigate. Suddenly January finds herself in over her head, staring directly into the shadowed world of the Veil. Now, January must not only navigate the new life she’s trying to build, but the paranormal beasties she’s sent out to explore, as well as a hot new neighbor, who seems to be hiding a shadowed past of his own. Synopsis The Fairy Woods Children by : Adriana Yamane

Much of the education of children is based on the antithesis between good and bad. The images of bad are supposed to be the dark background against which the good can shine, like courage shining through in times of danger. The problem with this approach is that the good has only the chance to shine but not to grow. The Fairy Woods Children thus tries to bring a new approach that allows goodness to grow and to expand in childrens consciousness, without the need of a fear-based background scenario. While this may sound boring to grown-up people who are used mainly to the strife of their daily life with all its troubles and fears, small children do not need to have this handicap. From an early age, they need to be allowed to grow beyond this stage at which humankind is now, and they need to learn more about the infinite possibilities that may lie before them in the future. A lot of misunderstandings and conflicts arise from the lack of heart-to-heart communication, which is the central point in the seven stories of the book. Each story, meant to be read at bedtime, brings to the surface a deep inner longing of the soul to express itself. As a child, these were the stories I would have liked to hear, and these were the teachings I would have liked to receive, as they can greatly eliminate the need of the good versus bad antithesis. And this is the reason why I would like to offer them to children and people like me, who may appreciate art and beauty, and who may wish to create for their families a lifestyle which is more soulful and kind.
