Sports engineering has become increasingly popular over the last decade and represents the link between sports science (biomechanics, physiology) and the application of technology. This book brings together work from researchers around the world and, in particular, Japan which has had a long association with sports engineering. Most sports are covered, including football, golf, skiing and even the Frisbee. For convenience, topics are split into ten categories covering disciplines, including materials, biomechanics and robotics.
