Synopsis Some Things Never Change (paperback) by : Darcy Smyth
A successful grandfather and his entrepreneurial grandson discuss what it takes to thrive in the first two years of business. "...Maybe you needed to hear this at the start of your journey to confirm you're on the right track by doing something different to what all the rest are doing. Maybe this message has come as a timely reminder for you to touch base with the fact that doing something different with your life was worth it, despite the challenges and difficulties it throws up along the way. Or maybe this message is tough for you to swallow, as you're getting close to waking up one day to realise there's no time left and your best days are behind you. If that's the case I only hope you made the most of those days and are able to treasure the memories you created whilst you had the chance." Darcy J Smyth is the lead trainer and creator of The Tonal Persuasion Method and is widely known in the training and mentoring space.

Synopsis Frozen 2: Dangerous Secrets: The Story of Iduna and Agnarr by : Mari Mancusi
Sixteen-year-old Iduna harbors a dark secret. On the surface, she is an Arendellian village girl, an aspiring inventor, and the best friend of Prince Agnarr, but she is also secretly Northuldra. Ever since the day the forest fell, Arendellians have despised and distrusted Northuldra with a vengeance. No matter that the Northuldra—along with some of Arendelle’s own—have been trapped in the Enchanted Forest behind an impenetrable wall of mist since the day of the battle. Iduna doesn’t know why the mist refuses to part, or why it descended to begin with. The only clear thing is that she must keep her identity from everyone, even Agnarr. Her life depends on it. Fortunately for her, Agnarr doesn’t know that Iduna is the Northuldra girl he saw seemingly flying on a gust of wind all those years ago, the day of the celebration turned disaster. The day Agnarr lost his father, the king. The day Agnarr himself almost died. What Agnarr does know is that Iduna is a true ally in the face of his royal responsibilities and the expectations of an overbearing council and a well-meaning regent who will rule in Agnarr’s place until he turns twenty-one and assumes the Arendellian throne. As Iduna and Agnarr grow ever closer, however, friendship is no longer enough. If only falling for each other didn’t mean risking their futures: Iduna’s as a hidden-in-plain-sight citizen of Arendelle, and Agnarr’s as imminent king. But for a chance at true love, the risk might be worth taking

Synopsis Some Things Never Change by : Ola Ekechukwu
Each story focuses on the main characters internal struggle to balance out personal principles with societal expectations consistent with the realities of living in present day Nigeria. In The Echoes of Twilight Bukola, the daughter of Nigerian immigrants flees the UK to Nigeria after losing her beloved father in suspicious circumstances and suffering untold abuse in the hands of her stepfather. Her fatherland however, offers no lasting comfort. Some Things Never Change tells the story of Jude Bellema a young medical doctor whose manipulative girlfriend coerces him to go against the ethics of his profession. He ultimately loses everything. Petals in the Rain centers around the emotional abuse, which a young girl forced into marriage, suffers in the hands of her ruthless husband. The fourth story The Lagos Onlooker delves into the culture shock experienced by a boy on his first visit to Lagos. It explores the seeming dearth of a societys conscience as it pertains to good and evil. The criteria for judging a womans success in present day Nigeria is the focus of the fourth story Before the Cock Crows. In this story, the main characters enviable success in her career fails to provide the much-needed fulfillment in the face of her mothers displeasure at her unmarried status. The last story in this collection The Lizard has Grown Hairs tells the story of a parents struggle to save their daughter from a seemingly unknown illness. It explores the relationship between African superstitious beliefs as compared to Western ideologies.

Synopsis The List of Things That Will Not Change by : Rebecca Stead
EIGHT STARRED REVIEWS! The reassuring book kids and families need right now. "An absolute original . . . a story that kids will love." --R. J. Palacio, bestselling author of Wonder At a time when everything is changing for Bea and her family, the important things will always stay the same. A soon-to-be classic by the Newbery Award-winning author of When You Reach Me. After her parents' divorce, Bea's life became different in many ways. But she can always look back at the list she keeps in her green notebook to remember the things that will stay the same. The first and most important: Mom and Dad will always love Bea, and each other. When Dad tells Bea that he and his boyfriend, Jesse, are getting married, Bea is thrilled. Bea loves Jesse, and when he and Dad get married, she'll finally (finally!) have what she's always wanted--a sister. Even though she's never met Jesse's daughter, Sonia, Bea is sure that they'll be "just like sisters anywhere." As the wedding day approaches, Bea will learn that making a new family brings questions, surprises, and joy, and readers will discover why the New York Times called Rebecca Stead a "writer of great feeling." "An undeniably beautiful book." --The New York Times "No author writing today observes young lives with more clarity, tenderness, and grace." --Newbery Medalist Katherine Applegate, author of The One and Only Ivan "Stead truly understands the inner life of kids." --Newbery Medalist Erin Entrada Kelly, author of Hello, Universe and You Go First

Synopsis Starring Sally J. Freedman as Herself by : Judy Blume
Sally J. Freedman was ten when she made herself a movie star. She would have been happy to reach stardom in New Jersey, but in 1947 her older brother Douglas became ill, so the Freedman family traveled south to spend eight months in the sunshine of Florida. That’s where Sally met her friends Andrea, Barbara, Shelby, Peter, and Georgia Blue Eyes—and her unsuspecting enemy, Adolf Hitler. Dear Chief of Police: You don’t know me but I am a detective from New Jersey. I have uncovered a very interesting case down here. I have discovered that Adolf Hitler is alive and has come to Miami Beach to retire. He is pretending to be an old Jewish man... While she watches and waits, and keeps a growing file of letters under her bed, Sally’s Hitler will play an important—though not quite starring—role in one of her grandest movie spectaculars.
