Synopsis Semi-Broken by : Isabel Jordan

Wolf shifter Lucas Cooper is usually up for any wild mission Harper Hall throws his way. But impersonating a doctor and breaking a woman out of the psych ward at a supernatural prison? That’s a little crazy even for him. Until he sees her. One look into her haunted blue eyes and every protective instinct he has flares to life. He’ll do anything to save her. Not that it’ll be easy. Break her out of prison? No problem. Convince her she’s not broken, undeserving of love, and incapable of redemption? That might be trickier. She’s 754821 and she’s a perfect killing machine. A nameless Sentry cleaner raised from birth to destroy paranormal threats, she’s the thing monsters fear. But then Lucas rescues her and everything changes. According to him, she has a family, a home, a purpose. To Lucas, she’s not just a number; she’s Seven, and she’s beautiful. They’re nothing alike. He’s warm, open, easy to talk to. Her? Not so much. Violence is all she’s ever known. And none of that matters when she’s in his arms. But when a threat from her past emerges to destroy the new life she’s worked so hard to forge, Seven knows she’ll need to rely on her killer instincts to protect the future she longs for with Lucas. She can only hope she doesn’t lose what’s left of her humanity—and Lucas—in the process… Semi-Broken works best if read as part of the Harper Hall Investigations series (Book 1: Semi-Charmed; Book 2: Semi-Human; Book 3: Semi-Twisted). Synopsis Neighbors With Benefits by : Isabel Jordan

The enemy of the HOA is her friend…and maybe much, much more… Ridley Lennox is not having a good day. Her high school nemesis becoming president of the Homeowner’s Association and trying to ruin her life is bad enough. But when Satan himself moves in next door, everything really starts circling the drain. Finn Doyle is a menace. The fact that he’s the most gratuitously sexy, extroverted jerk she’s ever laid eyes on is irrelevant. His unneighborly actions make him her sworn enemy. Which makes it super weird when he joins her war against the HOA. That’s when everything gets…wacky. Because somewhere along the line, Ridley, born introvert and known advocate of commitment avoidance, becomes friends with Finn. And, to her complete disbelief, he seems to want out of the friendzone and into an infinitely more…hands-on relationship. The wild part? She’s starting to think about it, too. Neighbors with benefits is a thing, right? Maybe. But only if neither of them does anything stupid…like falling in love. Synopsis Beyond Nonstructural Quantitative Analysis: Blown-ups, Spinning Currents And Modern Science by : Yi Lin

This book summarizes the main scientific achievements of the blown-up theory of evolution science, which was first seen in published form in 1994. It explores — using the viewpoint and methodology of the blown-up theory — possible generalizations of Newtonian particle mechanics and computational schemes, developed on Newton's and Leibniz's calculus, as well as the scientific systems and the corresponding epistemological propositions, introduced and polished in the past three hundred years. The authors briefly explain the fundamental concepts, then analyze a series of topics and problems of the current, active research widely carried out in the natural sciences. Along the lines of the analyses, they introduce new points of view and the corresponding methods. Also, they point out that the blown-up theory originated from the idea of mutual slavings of materials' structures so that “numbers are transformed into forms”. This discovery reveals that nonlinearity is not a problem solvable in the first-push system, and that the materials' property of rotation is not only an epistemology but also a methodology. The authors then point to the fact that nonlinearity is a second stir of mutual slavings of materials.

Synopsis God Created Humanism by : Theo Hobson

Gloriously maddening though this book will be to those who want humanism to have no connection to religion whatever, its purpose is both generous and hopeful: to demonstrate, to both Christians and post-Christians alike, how much better we understand each other than we think we do. - Francis Spufford Theo Hobson is an exceptionally acute observer of the difficulties and opportunities created by our largely secular age. He can see the self-deceptions we are engaged in as regards our debts to religion – and, in this beautiful book, charts a wise course to a saner world. - Alain de Botton With his usual crisp and rigorous analysis, Theo Hobson invites us to recognise that the core moral values of liberal modernity did not fall ready-made from a secular heaven but are the deposit of a long theological tradition. But – just as typically – he makes it clear that this is a challenge to contemporary religious complacency at least as much as to a smug and patronising secularity. A fine, provocative book. - Rowan Williams In this compelling account of the origins and evolution of our secular worldview, Theo Hobson shows how Christian values continue to underpin our public morality, how faith remains indispensable to Western humanism, and how atheistic humanism represents a dead end. At the same time, he offers a timely warning against the dangers of a religious-secular culture war, given the radically politicized and destructive forms of religion endemic in the world today Here is a fresh and provocative argument about religion and politics – but one that doesn’t fit into the normal boxes. It suggests that although the public creed of the West is best described as ‘secular humanism’ we can only really understand and affirm secular humanism if we see how firmly it is based on Christian norms and values. If we don’t, the West is divided: mired in a stagnant stand-off between fundamentalist atheism and an equally hard-line Christian theism. This book offers a more nuanced and historically more persuasive way forward, showing just how much our secular morality owes to Christianity, and how it can only find coherence through a new and positive view of its origins.
